Plugged in, reset button is lit, won't go off

The problem is the thermostat (NC 150 C). A replacement is available at Digikey.com, item R2015025 (part no. 317-1468-ND) It's a simple replacement with the bottom removed.

Iron with auto shut off will not restart, why?

The thermostat is the problem, I used aew3656's solution posted elsewhere, and took care of the same problem on my steamer, just take out the damaged thermostat and use it as a sample to get a new one from any electronics supply store, BTW dont forget to buy thermal grease, it helps dissipate the heat so your steamer won't overheat, and the thermostat wont't go off every 2mins.

The ps 300 will not heat although the on light is on

I bought one of these units at a Salvation Army Store still in the box brand new. I experienced the same problems (power was lit, but the breaker would trip and turn unit off). I opened the unit up and since I have knowledge of circuits, I bypassed the breaker (trips when it reaches a predetermined temp). I did however add a CRUCIAL electrical component that makes this possible an keeps your house from burning down - a added a simple dial thermostat (like one from a single electric plug-in coil stove top). Bottom line, I took on this project moreless for fun and I would NOT RECOMMEND anyone try this unless you have some knowledge about electrical circuits.

Leaks Rust!

You either have a lot of iron in your water or you bought a used iron. Eitherr way, run a mix of 15% wite vinegar to 75% water. use it until gone and refill with plain water and run that through. Try using distilled or filtered water.

Would you return this PS200 steamer?

If the steamer starts making a "gurgling" noise, like its running out of steam, hold the hose straight up for several seconds. It says to do this in the manual and gets the steam flowing again--works great!

Cleaning

There are a few products that will remove mineral buildup.
Vinegar - slow but it works. Let it sit overnight if filling a reservoir.
If it's on a surface saturate layers of paper toweling with vinegar and place on the surface and let it sit overnight. You may need multiple applications depending on the buildup.
Any 'De-Liming' product (containing Hydrochloric Acid) - Faster, but can discolor metal surfaces if left on too long. Wear plastic gloves when working with these products. If filling a reservoir you may want to dilute it with water (50/50) and leave for an hour. You can make a stronger dilution and/or use it full strength, but be careful... De-Liming Acids foam when they hit lime buildup, so be sure to keep the surrounding area protected or do it in a sink.
Keep in mind it will discolor metal so be careful if putting it in a stainless steel sink. Always rinse and flush with clear, cold water immediately after cleaning. Vinegar is the safe way, but takes time and multiple applications :)

My Laura star iron is continuously steaming and won't stop My Laura star iron is continuously steaming and won't stop

The steam valve may be partially blocked with scale so it doesn't close properly. You can try disconnecting the iron from the base unit and flushing it several times with the valve open and then closed. If it is possible to disassemble the valve, you can clean the contamination directly. You may also find that the seal or o-ring is worn out. My mother would use only distilled water in her iron, so she never had that problem. I see from the product manual* that yours is "designed for use with tap water" if the filter is used. There's probably a limit to how much lime in the water it will tolerate, but the manual says nothing about that. If the Laurastar Lift Xtra is less than a year old and you were diligent about replacing the filter when you got the replacement alert light, you may be able to get warranty service. *http://image.email.laurastar.com/lib/fe4715707564057e751572/m/3/75bb559a-f7e0-4d65-aa02-6d2bf912641f.pdf

My D2030 iron does not heat up the power light and the screen light come on but does not heat up

1...You need to check the iron settings as they have an adjustable knob that controls temperature as well as governs which kind of materials you want to iron. Different clothing materials need different temperature and other settings. Make sure you set the knob carefully. If you are unable to set the knob properly, you can check the user manual and make sure the temperature or heat amount is set at the right point.

2...Another thing that you need to check in order to inspect why the iron press is not heating up is the water reservoir. In some cases, if the water reservoir is empty then the iron press may not be heating up as much as it should.

For this, switch the iron off and make sure it is cool. Switch it on again and top up the water in the reservoir. Now try ironing again to see whether the heat is proper or not.

Elna Press 2000 Ironing Press. Why won't my press close?

Question edited for clarity. Question moved from Elna Sewing Machines No one has reported this issues, so there are no known fixes. The system is simple, just a hinge with a spring to counterbalance some of the weight. Look for something out of place or binding at the hinge area, perhaps the pivot pin is dislodged. https://www.google.com/search?q=elnapress+iron+won%27t+close+properly ..

Do I need to empty the steam tube at the end of ironing

Heating elements are vulnerable, they have a filament. Heat being generated should freely disperse. Another reason for having the water tank connected, is the possible buildup of scale. Like with coffee makers, the temperature would not reach a high enough level after some time and the iron then requires descaling.
