Certain Mitsubishi projectors have a built in bulb life timer, and are programmed to not allow a projector to power on unless the bulb is replaced and the bulb life timer is reset. Its a simple process:
1) Make sure your projector is plugged in.
2) Make sure the main power switch is on.
3) Hold the left arrow, right arrow, and power button on the control panel of the projector (not remote) for 3-5 seconds.
4) Release...
This will reset the bulb life timer to 0000 and allow for normal power up barring any other unforeseen issues.

To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

disconnect the power cord, and then
wait a short time.

This happened to me also. I thought the lamp was "burning out". What had happened was that the reflective material behind the lamp had basically melted away, that's why it still works, but looks very dim. Replace the lamp/cage.
I have a mitsubishi HC3000 and it is displaying
Hello,
if these lines are pulsating, it sounds like the connection at back of the engine where it connects to the main board. you can try to reset it and see if that fixes it. otherwise it could be one or the other. really hard to tell without a test fixture. if the bars are fuzzy like they look like they may be underwater then that would be a bad light tunnel.
but if otherwise,
Check the thin ribbon cables that go from the LCD screen to the PCB,if were shorting out/making poor contact. For me it was due to the position of the PCB, but in your case the ribbon cables my be coming unglued from the LCD because of heat or age, or both.
Another thing that could be happening is that the controller board is crapping out on you, open up the projector and see if there are any capacitors hit with the capacitor plague or the like.
If it's a really nice projector, then you might be able to find a replacement controller board on eBay, they have quite a few. Otherwise with some searching you might also be able to find a replacement LCD panel. Hope this helps!

Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. If the lights are constantly lit
red then it means that it is lamp operation time warning i.e. Total lamp
operation time reached while the power was off. If this is the issue then you
have to replace the lamp with a new one. Also check this manual for your
Mitsubishi HC3000u for more information on status indicators. Please do
accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further
assistance.
Thanks

Wait time for restarting projector/
You were right about the shut-down time. We had an older InFocus projector at work that had the cord yanked (by the presenter no less...) which cost us a near $400 in repairs. A LOT of heat is generated in these machines and proper cooling is absolutely essential to their operation.
