Won't turn on
I found that mine works great if I do not over tighten the cap on the battery. back it off little by little until it does work.
Leuplod rx111 rangefinder
This problem is caused by the 'step' inside the battery cover which prohibits the tip of the battery from contacting the nipple inside the cover. I fitted a thin piece of aluminium strip (20thou) and the rangefinder now works perfectly. Most brands of CR2 battery now have higher sides which shield the tip - bad design.
I got a new battery
If the battery you changed is new..be sure you format it well and charge it max..if it is a rechargeable one ..and if it isn't rechargeable ..be sure it is new..and a good quality ..
This devices also have an internal battery for settings and such ..and if it was a long time without power..it may have a faulty internal battery that can affect the display of the readings ..and all ...
Consult the manual to see what kinda internal battery it has..and change that too ..(you have to open it for that ..and the model of the battery it will be written on it ..
8x magnification
The RX series of range finders are not of the optic quality that other Leupold optics are. I have used my RX IV in place of my binoculars, but it is not adequate for glassing for game full time. The rangefinding abilities left a lot to be desired for me. As long a the object was under 450 yards, it worked fine. Past that was somewhat difficult to get a range at times. Hope this helps.
