Denon AVR-5800 Receiver Questions & Answers
I bought a Denon 5800
Hello, sorry to hear about your problem.
If you're connected via Component or HDMI out, you may want to try S-video or composite video. There are various problems with this device. Another issue could be the type of signal. I presume you are on digital now. From analyzing the net it seems to me that there may be a limited number of digital inputs into this device. Look for a way to designate only 1 digital input.
Difficult one to sort out on a forum. Needs fiddling with really.
Good luck.

My avr 58oo denon all lights up and seems to do
So it's a basic lack of selection of the source. That let's out the amplifiers and speakers.
Let's stick with FM as the source since it can't be conencted wrong or have cabling issues. Does it indicate that it can tune a station by lighting the tuner's stereo indicator? If not, something very basic is dead. I'm wondering what you meant by "seems to do everything that it shoud". What exactly DOES work?
Did it work at one time and then stop working or is this a new installation we're working through?

Check with new batteries. Try this site if no luck with fresh batteries; http://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.instructables.com%2Fid%2FRepair-your-remote-controls%2F&ei=mpVVSrr6O4_-sgP0-oDPDg&usg=AFQjCNGyomjVuVMr6mFT1L36ffi06FhCDg&sig2=kheNi9TulBWzmhGOMiIX7g
Denon avr 5800
I can help you solve this problem. However you must describe to me which fuse you have replaced. Is it the fuse on the power line or is it a fuse in the speaker line (which I highly doubt). usually this type of amplifier uses two technologies. One is transistors the second is integrated chips. This is in regard to the output stages. I assumed you speaker cables shorted each other while the volume was set at a high level with music playing. Anyway if you are willing I am able to help.
Avr5800 with no on screen display
With some receivers, the on-screen display is limited to a specific video output from the receiver to your TV.
I'm not 100% positive if that's the issue with yours, but it's likely.
If you're connected via Component or HDMI out, you may want to try S-video or composite video.
If that doesn't work, consult Denon to find out which output does your OSD.
AVR-5800 issues
Does the unit click when you press the power button on/off? If so, then the amplifier output transistors are shorted out.
Size of fuse for Denon dra 697
The Denon DRA-697CI stereo receiver typically uses a 250V, 2.5A fuse. However, it's always a good idea to consult the user manual or check the label near the power input on the device itself to confirm the exact fuse size and specifications for your particular model. Using the correct fuse size is important for safety and to prevent damage to the receiver. If you're unsure, you can also contact Denon customer support for assistance.
