Recently, I dropped HBO with my cable company and there dont have a box. Since the Maxent 42 is only a monitor and doesnot have a tuner...there is no where to plug cable from the wall to the tv.
Solution...plug cable from wall to VCR/DVD and then use RCA cables (Red,White and Yellow cables) from output from VCR/DVD. works great.

See if you can reset the electronics to factory defaults. Also check with the mfg about this. If nothing works you have one sick puppy on your hands. Try this - turn set on then pull the power plug. Then push and hold the power button to on position for a few minutes. Release button and plug back in Turn on and see what happens.

Hello Greg Y, The POP came from the part that is under the big heatsink, That part fails due to heat. I would recommend to add a cooling fan on top of the heatsink to keep the temperature lower and that would extend the life expectancy. Find a 9 to 12 volts source to connect the fan if you decide to install it. Let me know if you need further assistance.

When this happens you hope that the only thing wrong is that the inverter(s) are loose, and this is usually the case.
