Make sure the drain line isn't clogged with a sock or something small. Some models have a lint trap, usually at the front, that requires periodic cleaning. If the trap or drain line is partially obstructed, a first load's rinse water won't drain completely in the lowest part of the vertical drum you can't see. If this doesn't solve your issue, there is a pump problem.

Probably a defective timer. Call repairman to replace.

Had the same problem today. Found a very small piece of lint/fluff in the sealing groove of the filter socket. Removed this with an orange stick & touch wood the floor is dry again.
