Olevia LT27HVX 27 in. LCD Television - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Olevia tv screen turns itself off after several minutes.
I have been having the same problem with my 37" Olevia and have sent it to service twice.
The warranty people for Target have told me there's nothing wrong with the TV and have blamed it on the Satellite Service.
I changed satellite providers twice before sending it for service and had the same problem. So I changed to cable and I still had the problem. So I sent it yet again.
This time they told me that again there was no problem with the TV and that the satellite service is to blame.
So we called the Olevia Service and they told us is the Inverter Box and we need to send it in but to get it fixed they will charge us about half of what the TV costs... I say Hell no!
My olevia tv's volume is not working correctly. I

WHATS THE PRICE OF THE POWER SUPPLY FOR OLEVIA LCD LT27HVX
Parts for Olevia are hard to find and in some cases do not even exist;here is a general answer to your question:I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves
checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.Answers to issues:1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have tobuy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not.4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.
Olevia 242fhd-t11 Has no power. Will not turn on
I am guessing that since you are checking other outlets that you are getting no STB light or anything. So you will want to start by looking at the SMPS on the unit and see if the 5A 250V fuse is blown or not. If it is blown then you can try replacing it but I would bet that it will just blow again. So you need to replace the SMPS

hi,
There is problem with the back light of your tv. In LCD tvs CCFL are used as back light to give light to independant pixels. CCLF lamps required high voltage to light. This high voltage is provided by the inverter board inside ths tv. If any one of the chopper transformer (high voltage transformer) have some problem then the inverter will shuts off itself preventing damges to the power supply.
You have to check the 24V from the power supply. If its ok the you have to check the inverter board. There is two inverter board in your tv master and slave. When you replace the inverter try to replace both of them.It will be the back light inverter as it a common fault to lcd tv's. If you have some idea in electronics then you can replace the same. All wirings will be in sockets remove the wirings rplace the new board and reconnect all the wires thats all.
There will be a part number in that board. Serch with that part number for a new one. If you are not able to do the same i will prefer to consult some one experienced in it. your tv's Back light inverter board will look like one in the picture. First board is the master one and second one is the slave one.
You can find the inverter boards in the following links.

No picture with sound is commonly problem of LCD TV. The cause of that problem is the back light is not working, because the back light inverter board is deffective, maybe there's a blown surface mounted fuses cause of shorted transistor, transformer or bad capacitor. That the coomon problem of no display LCD television.Hope it will help you.Thanks..

Hi,
I am sorry to hear regarding the trouble. The first thing to do is unplug the TV for more than 40 minutes some
times little power surge will lock up the audio processor this will
allow it to reset. Unfortunately, there is no service information available for Olevia TVs
and they no longer sell in the US - although some manufacturers use
some of the same internal circuit boards.
We need to get back to basics on this problem -
First,
and not to attack your intelligence, have you checked that the mute
function is not enabled? If you have the original remote - press the
mute button a few times - if your remote does not have that - even if it
does - check the menu to see if the internal speakers have been
disabled (turned off) - some units do this for home theater systems.
If the problem persists, you have a bad MAIN board.Quite frankly its not worth worrying about if you have a work around that works. It's not worth replacing the board as its not cheap. The audio amp is part of the main digital board. This is multilayer digital BGA type of board and there is no field repair possible.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
