Air fuel mixture screw adjustment, forced air kerosene heater

Most ready heaters have a fuel pressure setting on the back of the heater near the fan. There should be two small plastic covers, looking directly at the back, the one on the left can be removed and a pressure gauge installed. The one on the right is slotted for adjustment of pressure. I think the correct pressure for that model is 3.0 lbs.

I have a reddy 30,000

There are several things that can cause this problem: Restricted air flow due dust or debris that clog the heater. A damaged fan or higher surrounding air temperature, which causes the thermal limit switch to shut the heater down.

Taping the the button down to force the operation of the heater is not safe. As you will override the automatic safety features, that shut the heater down in an emergency.

I have included a link to the Owners Manual for your heater, that you can download and print for future reference. It should help you to further troubleshoot and solve the problem.
http://www.desatech.com/manuals/Construction%20Heaters/REM30LP.pdf

In addition is you discovery you need to order replacement parts, here is a link to Master Distributors. They stock and sell parts for Reddy Heater. http://www.reddyheaters.net/

Hope this helps you solve the problem.

Will only throw flames if holdin button in

the thermal coupler could be bad. try and hold the gas button down for about 15 to 20 seconds and see if the flame will stay on after that amount of time when button is released. if it still goes out - then replace the coupling with a new one and all should be good after that.

Unit will blow & heat until the control is

This tends to be a problem with the thermocouple in these type of heaters. So you can try cleaning it with steel wool and positioning it over the top center of the flame. This is the hottest part of the flame, you can also check to see that the thermocouple is good and snug at the gas valve. After repeated heat cycles the thermocouple tends to loosen up just from expansion and contraction. Try my hints first and if they do not work then order you a new thermocouple. Good Luck

I would venture to say that it is the thermocouple not picking up signal to keep the gas valve open. You can try cleaning the bulb end with steel wool and positioning it in the flame remember the hottest part of the flame is out on the end.
