Have an older Reddy Heater Pro 110. Some years ago it was being used and ran out of K1 fuel while being used. If you plug it into the outlet (with a full tank of K1) only the fan works. Looking for suggestions about fixing the heater. I did take apart the heater and the only thing that I can see could be wrong is a black "box" under the fan (ignitor starter circuit) or somewhere there is a fuse or maybe a pump failure ? Has anyone had this problem ? Thanks.
Please answer the following questions. There are several folks on the board that can help but we need to know some vital information so we can get started. Answer these, if you can:

heater runs a few minutes then blows smoke and cuts off
Are you using the old fuel from last year? If so, drain and clean the tank. Replace with fresh fuel and replace the fuel filter. Check or replace the air filters. Check your ignitor for proper operation. Test again. Good luck.

Model R150A fires but won't stay running, shuts down after about 1 minute. Air pressure is set at 5lbs, new spark plug, end cover and all filters. What should be checked next?

Model R150A
Old Fuel? Added a Can of Fuel Booster? Used Starter Fluid?
Spark Plug or Igniter?
Gas, Propane, or Kerosene?

Lawn Boy Kerosene Torpedo Heater, ph100 it sort of spits and sputters, on and off there is flame coming out at output end of heater for a second or so. There appears to be some sort of light at the electrical end of the machine that goes out at the same time there is flame, it's on when there is no flame. the heater continues to run when this happens. I've increased and decrease run pressure but doesn't help.

keep getting E1 error code, where is the fuel pump located? where is the fuel filter located on my dyna glo deluxe multi feul 170000 btu heater
The fuel pump is directly behind the fan motor as the fan motor runs both. The fuel filter is under the electrical control panel on the side of the heater usually has four to six 5/16 head sheet metal screws that hold it on. Remove the screws and then the cover comes off and this is where you will find the fuel filter.

I have an old Sears model 583409130 85,000 btu heater that starts just fine runs for a few seconds and trips the reset switch.
check to see if the photo cell is clean.to check it open the side compartment and look for the blue and white wire comming from photo cell,on the reset switch there is a white wire and a blue wire.hook these two wires to gether at the switch and try to refire the unit.if the unit keeps running the photo cell is bad and NEEDS to be changed.if the unit shuts off the safety switch is bad.

I need a owners manual for my reddy heater 170t, how can I find one?
I think the actual model number for this is RL170AT
This is a DESA manual but the same exact model except for the name:
http://assets.phpdistribution.com/manuals/Manuals_Page/113170-01E.pdf
Over the years DESA INTERNATIONAL has manufactured kerosene heaters with the following brand names and Reddy Parts stocks parts for them all:
If you ever need parts here is the source:

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

I have a Reddy Heater Pro 110, several years old, has been a good heater, usually run kerosene, recently running diesel #2, have run several tanks through, no problems, recently acting up, will run for 10-15 min., then blows puffs of white smoke sparatically until shutting itself down or me unplugging it, i have no manual, have turned screws, lost track of correct position, where are screws suppose to be set, do i have other problems, ive cleaned spark plug, replaced fuel filter, cleaned air filter, ANY HELP? THANK YOU.
the first thing you need to do is go back to useing K1 kerosene, diesel fuel not only burns dirty but also has a tendency to gel up in cold weather which could be makeing it hard for the heater to draw the proper amount of fuel. To reset the pressure you will need a gage, it should run at about 6-7 psi. you can order a pressure gage from mr. heater online, they are by far the cheapest I have found as they are the actual manufacturer or call 1-800-251-0001
