Heater runs for approximately 3-5

Your heater shuts down because it is not firing up. You should probably check the filters. Mainly the output filter. If it is dirty the pump will not build pressure and atomize the fuel properly. If it is dirty use compressed air to blow it out carefully. If that doesn't help then check pump pressure. It should be 6.5 Psi.I think, check your operators manual to be sure. If these are not it then check the photo cell to be sure that it is clean. You may also need to check the lines or hoses for cracks and fit. They should fit tight on the fittings. I am afraid that I forgot to mention the ignitor. So before you go through all this you may want to make sure that it is getting fire. You can do this by removing the cover and turning the heater on and observing being careful to stay away from moving parts and heat. If this doesn't work send me an email and I will try to help.

Here is some research I did on Fix.Ya.com--

Check out these links, and let me know if they help--
if not, let me know what else I can do to help--

The links:

If you brought the heater to our shop, and gave the above description, the first thing that we would do is check the air pump pressure.

Then, if the pressure is correct (not just close) we would check the photocell for signs of insect nest or something similar blocking the view of the eye.

You must troubleshoot to find out if the problem is fuel related or electronics related- maybe these tips will help (click for link).
