Dials? I assume you are speaking of the air pump adjustment screws.

How to set the pump pressure

Lawnboy? Man, that thing is old! Keep it running cause they don't make 'em that good anymore.

Check to see if the Ignition Device (transformer, spark box) is getting 110v. This box must have a good ground to the frame. If not, the unit will not produce a spark at the plug. If it does have a good ground, then the part must be replaced. The current replacement part is 102482-01

There are a number of things that will cause the symptoms described. From as simple as water in the fuel to a more complex problem such as a defective Ignition Device (transformer, Spark box).

You will need to read & follow the tips attached and attempt to narrow the problem down.

Troubleshooting tips

Check the thermal safetys, stat, thermocouple if equipped.

This doesn't help. There at least 4 60k Reddy Heaters models -some are spark plug heaters, some have the new Hot Surface Ignitor technology. All heaters have specific model. Without you knowing the model I can't help, sorry.

It shound like it could be a defective safety control or photocell, and possibly a loose wire. You can also check for restricted fuel flow--due to blocked nozzel, seal leak, or a filter needing to be replaced. You can go on www.desatech.com and they have service manuals that will help you step by step. I hope this helps!!

There are many things that can go wrong with these heaters. The main problem is with the air pump and pu7lling fuel out of the tank. This adjustment is very critical for operation.

this have a flame controler, if the flame didn't goes on in few seconds the unit automatically stops. back plug and start again, if not star after tree times check the flame control thermocuple, or get the unit in service to fix it.

try to adust the air flow so that it burns cleaner

I think your photo eye is bad

since the combustion temp of diesel is different from KERO, expect the heater to shut down from overheating at times.
since it will probably heat up faster than on KERO.

Clean your nozzel, check your fuel & air lines, you may need to replace Spark plug and filters. You can go to the manufacturers website at www.desatech.com and they offer service manuals. I hope this helps you!

You may have contaminted fuel, a dirty nozzel, or you may need to replace the filters. Insufficient air flow also can cause this. You can go the manufacturers webite a www.desatech.com . They offer service manuals that should be able to assist you. Thank you

I would clean or replace the pump it looks like a square box with a fuel lines going to it,and I would check for spark from your ignighter

check the thermo coupler, it is the cooper tube looking thing you see when you look down the inside of the tube, it must be in contact with the flame, what is happing is this sensor is not detecting flame and shutting the system down, may need replaced, easy to do and cost about $10.00
