Take a small hand cloth or a 6-inch by 6-inch cloth and wrap it around the water line where it freezes up. This will help insulate the line. Failing this, do you see frost or ice forming anywhere specifically around the door - if so, the door seal would need to be replaced at a cost dramatically less than US$400.

Replace the icemaker. It sounds to me as though the harvesting thermostat has gone bad and it would cost more to have a serviceman fix it than to just buy a new icemaker. This is a common problem that I've seen so many times !

Most likely water valve dripping water slowly and freezing. Replace water valve if this is the case v

Sounds like you have an intermittent thermostat.. it's displaying classic symptoms.... I would replace it

Is the fridge thermostat suspect.... it would appear power supply and motherboard are fine... are there 2 separate compressors... if so... it may be that is the problem on the fridge side.... in which case - can you confirm if the air circulating fan is operational.

your model number doesn't come up.if it's an older machine some didn't come with water filters,you had to add an inline filter on the copper water line,you would run your copper,go down the cellar or behind the machine,cut the copper and the filter connects in between the copper where you cut the line.if you do have a filter it could be in the fridge section top right side or down in the bottom kickplate.i found your model the a was missing after the b baww.it doesn't show a filter,this is an older unit,check behind or in basement,wherever the water line goes and see if there's a filter added into it,if not you can cut the copper and add a filter yourself.home depot sells them http://www.homedepot.com/p/Whirlpool-In-Line-Refrigerator-Water-Filter-4378411RB/202204720#.Ug7jNxXD_X4

Your defrost drain outlet is frozen over.
Turn off the fridge.
Remove the bottom drawers.
Look in the back section just below the back freezer panel and you will see an ice dam.
This must be defrosted. Use a hair dryer.
Once all the ice is gone pour water into the drain to make sure it is clear.
Then pour a 1/4 cup of bleach in the drain.
Turn the fridge back on and you will be OK until it happens to stop up again.

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very,very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.
