In order to use the blender the food processor bowl and lid must be LOCKED in place. Turn the lid on processor until it's locked. Then you are ready to use the blender. Select desired speed or pulse.

In order to use the processor, remove the blender and place the gray lid in its place. It should be locked. The lid keeps the blender shaft from spinning and allows the shaft on the processor to turn.

To remove the processor bowl, gently lift up on the lid to unlock it and then turn it away from processor. Bowl lifts off. That's it! Enjoy!

I am not familiar with repair shops in Springfield, MO. But, I noticed a relatively inexpensive listing on OVERSTOCK and their shipping is very low.

The plastic shaft broke and was stuck on the motor shaft. It had to be broken completely to remove it.

I just bought a Bravetti Platinum Pro Food Processor 800watt 9 spd. at Tuesday mornings, it had obviously been opened. There were no directions or warranty information. I am hoping to find directions to print before I just take the whole thing back to the store.

Latching seems to be a sometimes thing.
I have this problem and found that I could make it latch by holding the body of the machine firmly and turning the lid while forcing the machine and processor lid toward each other ( This worked 7 out of 9 times).
You can also manually trip the little lever (to the left) inside the slot the lid rotates into.

This will leave the machine's interlock switch always on ......... but this can change with removal and replacement of the processor lid.

I have the same problem. I called bravetti/europro and they told me that they don't support this model any more and don't have replacement parts either. What I do to use it is I use a knife as the blade on the lid and stick it in the slot and move the switch toward the back. This is eaiser when the blender is off of the unit. You can do the same thing to use the blender but switch is a little harder to push.
