its the light sensitivitiy of the cam....exampel when you heave some fast movments youll heave to set a high iso rate.for a slow moves a low iso rate

Fixya makes me laugh sometimes. I've been a camcorder tech for 25 years. There are two movable lenses inside the lens assembly in your particular. Both are motorized, the zoom and focus lenses. What has happened is that the focus lens cannot move. If you are handy and very careful, you can take the camcorder apart and fix it. Label your screws, there are different thread types and legnths. Inspect where the optical unit plugs into the main board. Make sure it's plugged in fully and neither connector is partly torn from it's board. If that is OK, remove the optical assembly -there are two screws that attach it to the main board. Inspect the ribbon cable that wraps around the optical assembly for tears or other damage - particularly where it runs to the focus motor. If all is ok remove the focus motor VERY CAREFULLY so as not to damage the ribbon and look inside the lens assembly. You will see a little spring loaded plastic arm that runs back and forth on the worm shaft of the motor you removed. It is likely popped askew or off the lens bracket. You need to use a very small screwdriver or dental pick to pop it back into its correct position. Make sure the lens can move forward and back freely through it's range of motion. Reassemble everything, being careful to fit the little arm onto the worm shaft of the motor. That should fix you up!

I'd strongly suggest getting a cleaning tape recommended by the manufacturer or taking it to be professionally cleaned. It's very easy to cause expensive damage to the tiny parts.

My solution for you is by way of providing you the manual so you can either view it on your computer, or so if you want a hard copy of this you can keep it on paper. So here is the answer.

Here is a copy of the manual I have found for you, the only trick to this though that it is in .PDF file format, so what you will need to do is print this out, or save it to a USB Solid State Flash Drive (or known as a usb pen drive, thumb drive, key drive etc etc), and walk it to another computer and then print it from that location if you do not own a printer. One quick note though, you will need either adobe reader or some version of acrobat in order to view .PDF file formats/ extensions. These you can find pretty much anywhere.

4. Move the Menu selector to the left or right to select Camera, then press the Menu selector.

I posted very closely related troubleshooting steps to take in order to prevent your CAM from performing badly. Check your CAM batteries to ensure they are using only approved NIKON batteries as anything else will cause you lots of errors and potential problems. When you using the timer or remote options, remember these are controlled by battery as well, radio frequency, and radio wave lengths. When you press the button to take a photo, inspect the button, press firmly for a second and release. If your button is not performing the way it should, inspect it to see if any wear and tear is visible to you. Check free deprey around the button such as DUST, HAIR BUILDUP, and small particals that are hardly visible to the human eye. With very low velocity pressure air, blow around the shoot button as build up will cause the same error your experiencing.

You will need a 1394 cable (also called a Firewire cable), and you will need a Firewire/1394 capability in your computer. The cable should have a small 4-pin connector on the end that connects into the camera, and a larger 6-pin connector on the end that goes into the computer, although laptops use the 4-pin connector and therefore you need a 4-pin to 4-pin cable.

You can use Movie Maker (comes with Windows) to capture the video, or you can use Scenalyzer (a shareware program) to capture the video.

Kindly check if it still powered ON?check also the battery if still ok?because only with no power you cant see anything in LCD.Seek any person who is familiar with camera opening.

I found both batteries and chargers for this camera by searching Amazon for "Samsung SC-D353 battery".

The coin sized battery will be for memory back-up (keep the date and settings and power the clock).

This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. Try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

You cannot convert the DV into you PC as the formats are different.
You will need the data in the DV which outputs to be compressed and written. Please find these links to be useful :

The most likely cause for this is a damaged or defective flexible ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the camera body and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to usually be repaired by a qualified service technician.

In the English/German version, see page 87. The flash memory used with this camcorder is the Sony Memory Stick. A Secure Digital (SD) memory card will not fit and will not work with this camcorder.

The camcorder has a defective ccd assy. Its an ic that is on the back of the lens assy. The camcorder needs serviced to correct the problem. i hope this helps.

Any sd card will do just stay away from the sdhdc ones for this model. I hope this helps
