DOES NOT HEAT FOOD ANY MORE. CAN THIS BE FIXED?

Generally, if a microwave is no longer heating it's cheaper to replace it then to fix it.

Hotpoint rvm1625sj01 no power

Hello

Plug the microwave into the outlet if the microwave won't power up. Make sure the plugs on the microwave match the type of outlet. A four-pronged outlet can only be used with a four-pronged plug. Same with three-pronged outlets---they only work with three-pronged plugs.

Inspect the plug. Make sure it hasn't been cut or tampered with. Four-pronged plugs can't be cut down to fit a three-pronged outlet. Three-pronged plugs mustn't be forced into four-pronged outlets. A three-pronged plug mustn't be used in a two-pronged outlet, either.

Replace blown fuses, or if there's a circuit breaker, check it for tripped breakers. Sometimes the trip won't be obvious, so cycle the circuit breakers. Turn them all the way off and then back on again.

Plug another appliance in the outlet. You will find this easier with three-pronged appliances. Simply plug a toaster, or other appliance into the microwave's outlet, and see if it works. If it works, you know the problem is with the microwave, not the power circuit. Have the microwave serviced or replace it. If the toaster or other appliance doesn't turn on, you know the problem is with the circuit.

Can,t turn the over the stove lighting on

Replace the bulb. If that doesn't work, the "Membrane switch" under the plastic film control panel is damaged. There is no good way to fix them. Contact hotpoint to see if they still have replacement panels available for this model. If not, either live without the light or replace the whole microwave.

A symbol has appeared on the control led panel.

That might be covered on the owner's manual.

If for some reason you don't have yours, you can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

Turn table doesn't rotate

If the oven is still heating, but the carousel isn't turning, this problem is commonly attributed to a turntable motor that has worn out and may need to be replaced. The motor is attached to the center plastic piece (called a turntable shaft, turntable ring or coupler) under the middle of the glass tray. The following link explains how to access and replace the motor:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3555716-replacing_a_turntable_motor_on_a_microwa

This is a very simple repair, that usually is not expensive. The price range will be determined by the model and manufacturer. This repair can also be performed on an over the range model microwave oven WITHOUT uninstalling it.

You can refer to any of the following websites for comparison:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

The first three sites listed have helpful exploded view diagrams to assist you with locating and properly identifying the part(s) you may need.

If the model number is correct, the part number for a replacement motor is WB26X10038. If the coupler is stripped and needs replaced, the part number is WB06X10138. The average price for a motor is about $35. The coupler is less than $20. If you have any questions, please post back with your complete MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this helps you.

If it has that feature, it would be covered in the owner's manual.

Many GE models do. You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

You say all power went out but it is not a breaker. What power went out? In your kitchen? house? or just the machine? Can it be that you are plugged in a circuit that is protected by a GFI?

There normally is a fuse inside an oven on the floor. Unplug the device, remove the cover. DO NOT TOUCH THE SILVER CAN IN THE BACK - LETHAL.

Check the fuse with an ohm meter or contunity checker of some type.

If you need additional assistance, please let me know.

I hope this was helpful for you
