Why is it failing?
open gas cap and see if it will run again. m,any times the gas tank vents clog and the engine can't draw gas after a few minutes.
another thought is the oil mixture.. 50:1 with oil made for air cooled engines....not boat engine oil

How much would it be to rebuild the engine- Straight gas put in. Engine seized up- Or just go ahead and buy a new one
First try this... put some 30 weight oil in the plug hole aso much as you can until it reaches top of plug hole. Let it sit there a few days allowing the oil to creep between the walls and piston. .. then try turning the flywheel with a socket and ratchet, a little forward, a little the opposite...
Now, if that doesn't work, it depends on your unit... if we are talking about a $400 top model back packer, then it would be worth getting it repaired... you would be paying between 150 and 200... if the unit costarts 300 or less than buy a new one... period

If i pull back the trotal on my husku boy 50cc to
With todays gasoline it turns to what is called varnish very rapidly and more than likely some of the fuel that set in the carb over those 6 months has turned into a gummy varnish so the carb probably needs cleaned, If it is not to bad you can probably adjust the carb with the air/fuel mixture screws and keep it running well till end of the season, shouldn't take more than 1/8 to 1/4 turn though. I hope this helps

Can a husqvarna st 224 snowblower be adjusted to go faster in reverse ?
On my 724 I adjusted the cable below the lever on the left side, just loosen the 2 nuts and bring the cable either up or down ,cant remember, I had to fool with it a bit to get where I wanted it, have the blower running and in neutral while adjusting and keep trying her in forward and reverse at full throttle to see after you adjust it, I found that if shes faster in reverse when adjusted she slowed down a bit in forward but keep playing with adjustment till I got it where I wanted it, you have to slow it down going and blowing a lot of snow anyway so didnt mind it a little slower in forward but nice to have it faster in reverse
