Need to make recovery disc.

I took a shot in the dark and looked up how to make a recovery disc for a Pavilion 9900, since I can't find the Pavilion type you listed in the title of this thread.. The instructions are pretty simple:

"To create the recovery disc set, Click Start , All Programs , PC Help & Tools (or similar), open the HP or Compaq Recovery CD-DVD Creation software, and follow the on-screen directions".

Here's the link to the complete document at HP.com:

How to Make or Order a Recovery Disc

Good luck.

Cant open the case to my HP pavilion 700

First, turn off the PC, remove the power cord from the back of the PC to remove the 115 volts then push the power button for a second or two so the capacitors will discharge. This is important because the residual charge can cause Motherboard damage especially when changing the RAM. You should follow this process ANYTIME you enter the PC case to make changes, etc.

To remove the side panel on a Pavilion 700x series:
Only one side panel allows access to the inside of the Pavilion case, the left side if looking from the front of the PC. The left side panel has knurled thumbscrews, not machine screws. Loosen the thumbscrews, they are designed to stay attached to the side panel, place your hand on the middle of the side panel and with inward force push the panel towards the back. The panel will slide and inch or two and you can pull it free. This proccess is easier if the PC is unplugged (push the power button on the front of the PC after pulling the power cord to dischard the capacitors) and the right side of the PC laying on the floor. This allows easy access to the left panel and allows light to enter the case from above to change/add the RAM you want to install.

How do you replace a hard drive in a HP Pavilion

The instructions for removing the back cover or front cover might be in the Owner's manual. You need to remove the access panel and once you remove it just uncrew the old hard drive and install the new one and recoonect the wires.

My hp pavilion computer doesnt want to turn on.

You might just have a virus. If you can access the internet, you should download Malewarebytes anti maleware, spyware, virus and adware removal tool. You can find it @ Malewarebytes.org. If you can't access the net, I would download it on another person's PC and burn the program to disc or flash(thumb) drive and run it on your PC. Very good tool, and it's free! I've used it on many PC repairs including my own PC. Hope this helps!
