1) Turn off User Account Control (UAC)

In Win vista Go to:
- Control Panel - User Accounts

a) Click - "Turn user account control on or off"
b) Untick - "Use user account control to help
protect your computer"

Then:

2) Go to driverguide.com and download xp driver for the scanner.

3) Find the setup.exe file in the driver install folder

4) Right click on the file

5) Choose properties

6) Click the Compatibility Tab

7) Tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for" tab

8) Choose "Win Xp Sp2" or the operating system you are using

9) Click "Apply" then "OK"

10) Run "Setup.exe" file

NOTE:
This procedure may be used to run other programs that may have compatibility problems.

There are no drivers for windows 8.1 because it is pretty old model of scanner, only way you can use that scanner is with VueScan Scanner Software VueScan Scanner Software

first of fall you download mirascan 3424 and then inistall it correctly and then go your control panel click on a add scanner icon add a scanner ofter that you download photofilter and inistall it finish

Yes, the scanner is rather old, but it sitll does the job.

le da en download file, descomprime e instala setup.exe (es multilenguaje) y reinicia y listo.
Los controladores se instalan bien, pero no creo que le funcionen los programas que instala (muy viejos), le recomiendo que use el ABBYY finereader (muy bueno) para manejar los escaneos, para el OCR (convertir imagen a texto) o escanear imágenes con Photoshop.
