E20 message
Hi Helenw,
The error message E20, simply means the filter plastic cage which is located behind the trap door bottom right side of the machine is full and needs to be cleaned out.
All the fibres and lint gets trapped in here and prevents the waste water from escaping, hence Error code E20.

David

You can seal the cap by some tape, but it is better to get a good replacement, for the filter needs periodic maintenance. Your machine will not drain well if the filter is clogged.

If this is the start of the water heating cycle, then it is most likely the drum heater needs replacing (from the rear, unbolts from the bottom part of the outer drum). If this is the start of the Drying cycle (D position sounds like it) then possibly the heating element for the hot air (inside the hot air duct part 1242639019) may have an earth leakage or short when it is activated, so trips your MCB.If you know how to use a test meter on high ohms setting you might detect an EARTH leakage (from one connction tag to the outer metal part) , but test if less than 20 ohms across the live and return tags, on the low range (disconnect from ALL POWER first, and note the wire colours before removing connector tags to check the heater terminals). Note that a short or leakage might NOT show up at the low test voltages coming out of a test meter, and might only occur with 250V on the element. The duct heater is all one large part, about £70, so check carefully and logically, which one you need. TD

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Is it waiting for water inlet perhaps?
If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Methinks you could do with a manual for your washer- for now and probably later!
Sorry but FixYa cannot do that direct - members of the forum are just people from all over the world, probably working from home, and not representing any particular manufacturer ;-0)

You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount.
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct ;-0)

Wont go though wash cycle or spin, machine bounces
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Start off by adjusting the balance ;-0)
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly!
Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.
(If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal suspension is malfunctioning.)
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

You can try unplugging the machine for 7 minutes this usually causes the control to reset. If this does not work then most likely you would have an issue with either the main control board or the touch pad that connects to the control board. Have you also check to see if the spin only option on the unit is pushed in and stuck this would also cause the same situation that you are experiencing with your unit. Also is there any water stuck inside the tub at all? if there were water stuck inside the tub or the pump the unit would go into the spin mode and turn on the pump as well in order to try and remove the water from the machine. Would need further clarification on if there is any water in the machine and if you have tried to clean out the pump on the unit as well. Thanks I await your reply Rick

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. If your washer doesn't drain or spin, you may read and learn what parts may cause this. First, you will want to check your water pump. You need to make sure it is working. Make sure you check the belt on the pump. Make sure it is not broken or loose. Also, make sure your pulley is not stuck in place. Sometimes, they will stick or barely turn at all. If this is the case, you will need to replace it. If the pump, pulley, and belt are working, make sure your motor is working. You should be able to hear it if it is. If it isn't, check your lid switch. The lid switch can cause the motor to not work. It may need adjusted. If not, go ahead and change it. A bad lid switch may cause the washer to not work at all. Now, if your pump is pumping and the washer still won't spin, you will want to check your belt and clutch. Once again, the belt may be broke or loose. Check to make sure your clutch is not worn also. This may be a case of a bad lid switch again as well. You could have a bad drive motor. This is what controls spinning, draining, and agitation. You could have a broken motor coupler. Over time, they will go bad and need replaced. It is possible that your transmission is slipping or damaged. And lastly, you could have a bad basket drive ir spin bearing. This is what allows the inner tub to move. If this is the case, you will probably hear loud sounds or loud banging.
