ASUS P4P800-X Pentium Motherboard Questions & Answers
I used 1gb ddr400 to my Asus P4P800-X, it works,
The black and blue slots are to indicate where paired sets of identical DIMMs should be inserted. So one pair would use the blue slots and the other pair would use the black. It's possible that your motherboard doesn't fully support this RAM type but you would only be able to find that information at the Motherboard maker's website. Hopefully they still have BIOS updates for that motherboard posted online so you can update it. Sometimes all you need is an update to the BIOS to support newer processors or memory. You need
to perform a quick check of the following steps for us to understand the exact
status of your SMPS(power supply) and Motherboard
1) Open
the CPU and check whether the green light is glowing on the motherboard when
power is given to SMPS.
2) Please
make sure that the HDD IDE/SATA and power cables are plugged in properly on
both ends.Use common sense to check, do not press very hard as the slots are
sensitive.
3) Make sure that all the CD/DVD drives are on IDE
2 or on SATA
4) Make sure that the Jumper setting on the back
of the HDD is set to MASTER. NA for
SATA.
5) Login to bios and make see if you can find the
HDD from the drives menu. From Boot menu select the NATIVE mode that will
activate both the SATA and the IDE channels.
Now restart the PC and see what you get.

Asus p4p800s-x mobo will not post re:cpu upgrade
Try to reset the BIOS, this will force a redetection of the cpu. If it's the same after that then either the cpu is bad or its model isn't supported by the BIOS - try to upgrade it using an older cpu.
What is the best power
A good brand P4 Power Supply
(24-Pin) of 350-450 Watts is generally used and sufficient for it.
Hope it helps! Good Luck!

When i turn on my computer, processor fan starts
Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty
One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA
the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
