Canon BJC 4300 InkJet Printer Questions & Answers
Canon bjc-4300 error message no paper
You will need to clear the "print queue" of those failed print attempts.goto START--->Control Panel--->Printers and Faxes at the top, click on View, in the second section, choose -Tiles-.Locate your printer's Icon, and see if the number below the pic is greater than 0. If it IS, then double-click it, a new window will open. Click on the -Printer- drop-down list, choose "Cancel all Documents" (this can take up to a min.) If the docs do not clear after a min, then do it again. Once they're all gone close that window.Sometimes the plastic "guides" in a paper-tray, (which report the paper type to the printer,) become slightly out of place and report the absence of paper, though it really means -paper of the correct type-; because it thinks the wrong-sized paper is loaded. This can happen when a good-sized chunk of paper is dropped into that space and the paper pushes on the -guides-.Move the length, (if any,) and width paper guides away, then back to their proper positions and see if that helps.Tallon41
I can't find ink cartridges for it anywhere.
Take a look at my tip on cartridges it may save you a lot of time and money

OR
Read on and see if any applies to you.
Check that you removed the protective tape. some cartridges have two of these pieces of tape one over the head and possibly on on the contacts to the printer.
If you recently re-filled or had the cartridge refilled or even bought one of the many cheaper replacement cartridges you should read on
Most modern cartridges have an ink level chip built on to them.
Should the level drop below 25% then most of these chips lock up and will not reset.
Re-filling them will have no effect
If you are lucky you should be able to find either a chip resetter around on the INTERNET or maybe even local
OR
Even better empty cartridges that never need to be reset.
The second option is my preference
I realise these are not for your specific printer but there are others listed on both those sites as well.
cheaper cartridge problems have been on the rise recently and that is for ALL makes of printer.
If you try to clean the contacts be VERY careful cleaning contacts and ONLY use isopropynol on a lint free bud or cloth.
Also be very gentle.
I have seen the contacts cleaned and cartridges ruined with other methods of cleaning.
Rubbing too hard can also cause a badly set chip to move making it inoprable.
I dont like full prices replacements either which is why I always provide the links
I usually reccomend that people take back any cartridge that does not work right from the get-go.
I dont know of anyone who has had a problem doing that be it a shop refill or otherwise.
No matter if I paid $1 or $100 for a cartrdige I would still expect it to work
Hope this gives you the information you need

Cannon BCJ-4300 has stopped printing/ new ink and
Sometimes the printhead itself gets clogged. You can remove it with the
green lever to the right of it. Take both cartridges out, take the
printhead alone and soak it in lukewarm water for an hour. Rinse when
done. You will likely see lots of black ink in the water that has been
softened and removed from the printhead. Blow excess water off or leave
it to dry. Put known good cartridges back in and you should be ready
to go. Done this many many times.
I have been using a Canon BJC4300 for years. Love

Have new inks but still want print,
Did you remove the seals from the cartridges???
Please double check this and then go into the printer program (in the control panel) and run the cleaning routine.

Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

To pin it down to a hardware fault, you may need to remove the printer from the usb port, uninstall driver and re start pc.
Check your printer and faxes folder to make sur there are no other canon printers listed, if so delete.
Re install printer driver, then when prompted connect printer to a different usb port and see if windows recognises your printer and is installed ready to use.
Try again and if the same problem you know it's the printer thats faulty
Printer won't print
It always helps to replace with the correct brand as cheaper versions do fail, also if you had replaced it with a BC-20 from Canon, the supplier may replace it for you. It would be a good idea to trust the printer at this stage, try a Canon BC-20
Printer does not react to computer
You either have corrupt printer drivers or pc hardware issues. I would turn printer off. Unplug it and leave it off. Now uninstall it completely. Make a back up copy of your printer disc to eliminate it as a cause, and put aside. Now, on your pc run antivirus and antispyware (you should have these alredy!) I recomment avg free for both. Also run a registry repair progrsm like regcure (always do a restore poit save first, and make a backup copy of registry first beforehand. Sometimes registry repair can leasd to more issues and you have to go back to past settings. Now, reinstall printer with the backup disc, not the original and post back to let me know if this helped.

printer.
When cleaning the printer, avoid the area near the print head on the BJ
cartridge. Do not touch the print head. Ink may leak out and cause stains.
Clean the printer regularly to avoid printing problems. Remove any ink mist or paper debris
from the interior of the printer using a soft cloth moistened with water. Clean especially well
around the platen area. If the rollers become dirty, you can clean them using a small soft
