Which fan? There usually is one for the Fuser and one for the power supply. As for disassembly, you really need the Service Manual to take it apart correctly.

Duplicated images on pages is either the drum, or fusing/setting unit. Since this is an all in one unit, I am assuming the ink/toner cartridge includes the drum. I suggest replacing the fusing/fixing unit. (the hot part of the printer"

The document scanner has light bar which Canon calls the "Contact Image Scanner" FH7-7565-000. It is probably bad.
This unit is under the glass, so I'd recommend to get a service company to do this.

You need to replace the drum unit.

Make sure the cassette is pushed in all the way and it has paper in it. Then go back and open and reclose everything you did before the jam.

The platen is the part that covers the large original glass. That is why this glass is sometimes called the "platen glass". More commonly the glass is called the original glass because that is where you lay the original to be copied if you are not using the feeder.

If you reset the copier by open and close the top scanner, by moving it left and then right, and you still have a paper jam error on this model there are only 2 options one that there still a piece of paper holding the switch, 2nd option is that the switch is broken or out of place. If you remove the paper from the fuser, the left side of the machine, where it exit, your only option is to take the fuser unit out, and check the switch, recommended for technician only!!!
If you found the paper at the right side of the copier, take out the cartridge, lift up the metal plate on the bottom, swing it up and look for the paper.

probably the rubber encasing isnt completely covering wire and sparks come from electric current touching metal. have that checked out proffesionally repaired

as of now even microsoft is working towards a solution for the 64bit drivers as soon as it is available it will be posted on the microsoft site, you can also go ahead and describe the complete problem to them since they would be needing some more details with regrds to the printer in order to get a solution.
