Canon i850 InkJet Photo Printer Questions & Answers
Printer will not print black ink
Chewbacca08's solution gave me an idea. I set the print setting to photos paper (even though I was trying to print on plain paper) and IT WORKED. It's worth a shot before you trash a perfectly good printer.

Canon i850 inkjet flashes green
This sequence tells you that the ink absorbers are full. They will need replacing. This is a job well beyond the scope of the user as the chassis needs to removed and the old absorbers removed and the new modified absorbers fitted (part no now isQY5-0181-010)
Also the counter will need resetting to remove the message and that too must be done by a Canon repairer.
Srri but is probably the worst job to do on this model.

I850 printer.
problem occurs with all
So that means this is a network shared printer? If it is, check from MAC to see if you can ping the printer by IP or name? It could be the network connection issue. Also check USB cable, sounds like it is bad too.
Canon i850, service error 6800
This error indicated that the internal printer counter for the waste ink sponge has reached its threshold. You should be able to reset this counter once without cleaning the sponge.
Do this:
1. Start with printer OFF
2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
3. Release RESUME
4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving.
6. Select functions below with RESUME, execute with POWER
now try press resume button 4 times..after that press the power button
This should clear your error and let you resume printing. If you start getting ink smudges on the paper you will have to disassemble the printer and clean the waste toner sponge.
