Canon CanoScan LiDE 60 Flatbed Scanner Questions & Answers
Cannot communicate with scanner (Canoscan Lide60 on Mac OSX 10.5)
I also had this problem and scoured ALL the apple forums to no avail. Then I discovered what my problem was. I run parallels on my mac and it had nabbed my scanner as one of its USB devices! All I had to do was uncheck this device for use in the windows Virtual machine and it came back to mac. The strange thing was, I didn't use or install the scanner in the windows environment, yet parallels stole it from the macOS side.If you have Parallels installed, I wonder how many other problems with USB connected devices could be solved by visiting it first?
I need to buy a cd to install
Go to Canon's website. They should have a site for Software downloads. Trusting they do, when you go to download it and it asks you if you want to Run it or Save it, you'll want to save it. Then burn the software onto a CD.
How to get the Canon LiDE 60 scanner to work in
Hi. If the scanner is not working through 'Image Capture' or though it's own Canon software, then the best option is to download VueScan from Hamrick Software. He keeps it updated more frequently that the manufacturers do.
I try to scan and it says canot find twain
It can happen from time to time. Twain an industry standard scanner application. You need to re-install your scanner sofware. Make sure you do it with your scanner disconnected from your computer, and powered off. Your pc should tell you you when the software is installed, and tell you the scanner is not present. That is when you re-connect it and switch it on.

Go to the following URL: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=235&modelid=11446#DownloadDetailAct
Then select your OS.The drivers and software for Win7 32 bit and Win7 64 bit different. The Win7 64 bit drivers are digitally signed; the 32 bit version doesn't need the same level of security certificates (a Microsoft issue).
I hope this helps.
