Generac 14kw Lp mod 0055030 ser 5437842 Battery was dead. Replaced but has code RPM SENSE LOSS.

RPM Sensor Loss 1501 ALARM This RPM alarm is set when a 2 cylinder unit was already running and stalled or lost the RPM signal from the ignition coils. Possible causes could be a fuel issue, the LP tank is empty, 1 or both ignition coils are damaged, or the unit was overloaded quick enough that the engine stalled and set the alarm. Possibly a fuel flow issue. Try running without load for awhile, if it faults with no load then either an ignition module or control board or fuel. If it only faults with significant load, then more likely a fuel flow or engine is stalling from sudden increase in load.

Can Code 1902 for a Generac 8KW be fixed by the owner?

If you have some fundamental electrical training/experience. Undervoltage 1902 ALARM Fault is displayed when both zero crosses are missing from the controller's input for 1.5 seconds or more. Could be a faulty excitation winding, zero cross circuit, loose wiring, or field boost hardware problem. Same applies here, v1.12 or later firmware should be installed.

I have a 16kw generac guardian that runs smooth when under light load, but when ac kicks on it stumbles and misses. no other load on unit, so well within amperage capacity. How to resolve?

Check for water in fuel or drain fuel tank and carburetor fuel bowl and refill with fresh fuel. Check spark plug gap.

I have an 8KW Generac gas generator. We had a power outage and it didn't auto-start. ALARM - Overcrank msg. Started it manually. Weekly exercises are fine (It's cold and snowy here .. relevant?)

By "gas" I assume you mean gasoline? Overcrank means too many starter revolutions without engine run which agrees with no auto-start. If gasoline, suggest you drain the fuel bowl and some of the tank(pint or so). Capture fuel into container. Then transfer to a transparent/glass container and let set a few minutes. Then look for a water line(fuel is lighter than water and will separate). Line high in jar means lots of water. If any sign of water and you need to clear the fuel system and tank. Then completely fill with FRESH fuel from a trusted source. Or if refueling too far, if you only use fuel from top of container that has sat for a few minutes, the water is on bottom and fuel on top.

I have a propane 20 KW Generac showing in that displays checksum failed

Embedded processor memory error. The genset processor runs a periodic sum of all instruction memory space and compares it to a known value "check sum". Your unit has failed this test which means processor instruction space is potentially corrupted. This is a fatal error and it will not allow the genset to run until it is corrected. Likely this will require replacing the control board.

I have a standby Generac generator that keeps blowing the 15A fuse. What can cause this to happen?

Does the fuse holder or wiring diagram have the fuse size listed on it ? It could be an incorrect fuse size from the factory or installed by someone who was just lucky the day they installed it and it ran with what is essentially a fuse with too low a rating. Are you using the correct voltage rating ie 120volts not 12volts or whatever. IF IF the second fuse works that kinda tells me there is no fatal short in the system, otherwise it would blow that fuse also. I would try a 20amp or a 17.5amp if it's made in the configuration you need. Preferably the 17.5. If you replace the 15A with the 20A and it blows then you have a problem.

I have a 15kw generac genset and it has an "overload remove load" fault which can be cleared from the evolution controller. genset started but shutdown after 5 seconds.

The overload fault is indicating that your connected load is overloading the generator capacity and it's tripping off. Check your connected load (what ever is hooked up that you're trying to power). You need to use an amp meter to verify the amp draw, and also the rated voltage output. If it's low voltage, could be low engine RPM or voltage regulator. high current indicates a problem with load your trying to power, ie-- Motor or other load. Generac natural gas generator has no control lights and won't even turn over in manual mode. Brand new battery has been installed. 7.5 amp fuse appears to be good.

Appearing good and IS good is two different things. Use an ohmmeter to test continuity on the fuse. also look at the traces on the display board for open conditions or scorched components.

My generac 2000 won't start

If it has been sitting for awhile since last used, this is a common problem. The fuel has sat and gummed up and clogged the fuel passage ways through your carburetor. One trick to clear the passages is to try to get fuel into the generator when starting by spraying carburetor cleaner or starting fluid into the air intake of the generator. Sometimes if you can the the motor to run it will suck on the fuel line hard enough to clear out the gummed up fuel stuck in the lines. Caution: if you use starting fluid, just give it small puffs from the can. Too much can blow up the engine or flood the spark plug.

My natural gas 10kw generate

The engine is starting and running too lean, meaning it is not getting enough fuel for the amount of air. You need to post a photo of the fuel system from the regulator to the carburetor so we can tell you where to adjust the fuel mixture. You may be able to adjust the choke to a richer setting and make sure it works freely. If it has a Rochester type electric choke with the black plastic cover it is easy. There are 3 screws that you loosen and turn the plastic cover in the "rich" direction. It is marked rich and lean.

My 10amp fuse keeps blowing after the generator has only been running for less than a minute. This fuse is located on the back of the box with the idle control button. Generac 17.5 kW

If its blowing with nothing plugged in, then you have a short near whatever it is feeding. Usually 10amp is for the 12V circuit. If its blowing with things plugged in, remove them and check each wire/device and try again. Another tip. If the fuse is glass and the inside turns black, that means there is a dead short on the load side of the fuse. something is very wrong for that to happen. If the glass is clear and the fuse wire is still visible and just broken, you have something drawing a little too much current and not a short. Usually a easier fix and lesser problem. The fuse tip goes for any glass fuse that you can see into.
