Question re hose and head

Hi There, Ok so the hose definitely cannot be interchanged, all the dysons have a different (slightly) fitting where the hose clips to the vacuum. The head I think can be fitted from a DC19. To be sure I would buy the correct one for your model. Dyson have a bad habit of using different fittings for different models to force you into buying the proper dyson one. With the DC05 and earlier you could adapt heads from normal vacuums but they stopped it from dc08 on.

Where dos the hepa filter

Hi there, The HEPA filter in your DC08 Animal is designed to last the lifetime of the cleaner, and should not require attention. Do not try to wash this filter, as this could cause damage. this filter needs washing at least once every 3-6 months. Use cold water without detergent, and ensure the filter is completely dry before replacing it. If you have any further queries about using or maintaining your Dyson cleaner, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to provide the information and assistance you need. You can call us free on 08002980298 - our Helpline is available from 7am until 10pm, 7 days a week. How many filters does a

2 the motor filter which is washable and the lifetime hepa filter that you bnever have to change.
Here are a few links to Dyson for you. if you remove the bin and cyclone top assembly (as if you were going to empty it) you should see on the body of the machine a small tab on the top of the body in between the 2 wheels. Simply lift this tab and you should find the filter. It will be a two part filter with a blue sponge and yellow casing.

For full details visit www.dyson.co.uk/support. Select Using your Dyson, or How to wash my filter from the home page, pick your Dyson vacuum cleaner and you will be able to view a step by step guide on how to find the filter and how to wash it.

There is also a post filter which is locate underneath a disc which is under the clear bin, however this filter should never need to be replaced as it should last the lifetime of the machine and it does not need to be cleaned.

I hope that this information is useful to you. If it is a vote with the thumbs up is greatly appreciated.

How do i wash my filter on my dc08?

There are 2 filters on your dc08 the one that is under the bin is sold as being lifetime which I strongly disagree with. I work as a vacuum Technician and I would strongly encourage you to buy a new exhaust filter every 2 years. The filter at the top of the machine can be washed in normal tap water. The filter is in two pieces, the blue sponge part can just be squeezed like a kitchen sponge the other part with the colored plastic casing can be gently scrubbed with a toothbrush or similar. It is important to remember that the more often you wash the sponge part the less often you will need to was the cage. If you need to buy a new Dyson washable filter because yours won't come clean they are only $20 so just visit NelsonVacuums or VacuumSpot and have one delivered.

Hello, How can I clean the

HI there,
By Lower filter i am going to assume you mean the one below the clear plastic dust bin. The machine you have described has a thick hepa filter (probably with a purple plastic rim) and unfortunately they cannot be effectively cleaned. If you are keen to try then I would suggest using an air compressor blowing from the top to the bottom.
What I would really suggest you do though is throw it out and replace the hepa filter with a new one. If you are in Australia I would try Vacuumspot or Nelson Vacuums.

How do I change the on/off swich on a DC08 allergy

Hi there,
The switch failing is about the most common problem for the Dyson DC08. I have made a video of how to access the switch compartment and change the motor too if needed. Once you can see the switch it simply unclips and a new one goes in. Have a look at the video I think it is pretty straightforward. If you need somewhere to buy the switch check out nelson vacuums or vacuumspot.
Please take the time to leave a testimonial, thumbs up or review. I appreciate your feedback!

Hi. I have Dyson dc08 hepq+. Thet problem is its

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

From your description of the problem, it sounds as though the bin inner is missing. To confirm this, if you remove the cyclone and bin from the machine, then separate the 2 pieces as if you were going to empty it, when you look at the bin assembly, there should be a circular coloured piece of plastic in the base of the bin. This plastci piece should have a large black/grey rubber seal around the top. If this part is missing, the dust and debris will not collect in the bin, instead it will collect on the filter.

If you find that this is the problem, you can purchase a replacement bin assembly (including the bin inner) from our website at www.dyson.com.

If this is not the problem and the machine is correctly assembled with no blockages and a clean pre filter, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US) for further assistance.

Kind regards
Darran
