There is a few things you can do to speed your computer back up...
1...Clean up your hard disk...
Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup

2...Defrag your Hard Drive...
Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter

3...Add the maxium amount of ram to your computer that is allowed

4...Clean any old programs, files,pictures,etc off of your computer that you no longer use.

5...Last but not least...
Your computer may be loaded with spyware, virus's, trojans,etc. and that will make your computer run slow also.

The hard drive in the computer has stopped working and will need to be replaced, a computer technician or somebody that knows their way around a computer will be needed to make the repairs.

You should be able to get a PCI video card from ebay pretty cheap. It will mean taking the case off your tower taking out the old (if its not integrated into the motherboard) and inserting the new card.

You should try defragging your machine first. That is cheap. Look under start -> accessories -> system -> defragment. This will take a while but it will definintely improve things. You can also try programs like CCleaner to fix your registry (and defrag).

Memory is fairly cheap. Many places have a tool to tell you exactly the memory upgrades that you can perform. Crucial, New Egg, etc. will probe your machine or ask you information about the machine.

You might also want to check to see that your WIndows updates are up to date. You should also check your virus program.

weel its seems ur laptop is Clogged with Dust .the reason the Fan is Spinning fast is because parts r getting Heatedup.as a matter of fact wht u can do is |if ur r a pro open up ur laptop and clean the heatsink.that should take care of it.

This monitor may not have built-in speakers. It may have supported Gateway's monitor mounted sound bar. That sound bar connected to the 3.5 mm audio out on a computer and a DIN port on the monitor. The simplest solution is to connect your source to appropriate speakers. Depending on your audio setup, you could connect the video source to a receiver with HDMI IN and HDMI Out (ARC), computer speakers or an audio extractor. (If you are using an HDMI cable between the Gateway LP2417 and a computer, you may need to reset the audio output to use basic computer speakers (3.5mm jack).) No you don't need a driver. These are very plain powered speakers that come with a mains adapter and a lead with a 3.5mm stereo jack at both ends. Plug one in the speaker and the other into the headphone jack on the front or the speaker socket on the back which will either be a socket on the motherboard, or if your son put a sound card in the computer, it will be in a sound card. If it doesn't play straight away, go into Settings - Audio and make sure the sound card or the On-Board Audio is enabled.
