I have a Gateway 507GR.

A better bet would be to get a replacement computer. It's a P4 and way past it's useful life.

Why is the audio way to fast

Sounds like a Driver problem. I can't find the drivers in a place I would trust, and I can't verify this model has a Factory Restore Partition. This appears to be an XP machine, which is no longer supported. If it is, I recommend backing up your personal data asap, and plan on moving to a newer machine and Operating System. Good luck.

Thermal event won't ever allow computer to boot at all

"Computer unplugged from power, press the Power On button in, and hold it in. Hold it in for a count of 10 seconds. let go. Do this procedure two more times. (If the Power On LED lights up, do it again) What you are doing is clearing CMOS Error Codes. Check the Processor fan, check the Thermal Paste. Cheap as Thermal Paste is, and what it does for a job, best advice is to simply replace it. Need guidance post back in a Comment. Before beginning make sure the computer is unplugged from power, and you are FOLLOWING Anti-Static Precautions. Regards, joecoolvette"Brian Packard;"I cleared CMOS a few times (has jumper on board too) and even put new thermal grese on it....what finally did it was taking out the CMOS battery. As long as it's outl it works just fine, putting it back in causes an error again. Thank you all for your time however and I hope this post can help somebody else too."

My gateway507gr dvd drives wont work right

Clean the CD/DVD's laser lens with a laser lens cleaning kit. If that doesn't work it probably needs to be replaced.

Sim card reader not working.

Does the card still work in the device you took it out of? Have you tried a different card in the computers reader? If the card still works in the device you took it out of, plug the device directly into the computer to download. Then format the card and try to read it again in the computer. If this works could be a format error, if the card does not work in either device, bad card.If another card works in the reader, put it in the device you are using (digital camera, phone, ect) and put something on it. Then try using the computer reader. If it works great. If not, your device is formating the card in away the computer does not recognize. If non of the above work, look in device manager and see if there is any ? marks next to anything. If there is go to Gateways website and look for the updated drivers for you computer. This is a good idea anyway, since drives are updated all the time and having current ones help reduce issues.Hope one of these items helps

Gateway 507gr wont power on but looks like ps unit is good

Make sure you are plugging in your P.S. to Motherboard properly. This can happen if you are off by one pin on a 20 pin Supply on a 24 pin Motherboard. If you never opened the case and it just started happening, maybe one of your cards came out of its slot or your CPU Fan is not running.

Where to get replacement motherboard for Gateway

I think a micro atx socket 775 motherboard would work here if you wanted to retain the original CPU
You may have to sort out some wiring though..
For an original board, best off trying ebay

Removed power cord from back of pc and after

Before calling it quits on the motherboard, try disconnecting ALL non-essential devices from the motherboard.

This includes drive cables, all slot mounted cards, etc.

Leave the processor and ram in place. Make sure ALL power cords from the power supply to the motherboard are properly plugged in. Some power supplies have 2 cords to the motherboard, a large plug and possibly a separate 4 pin that plugs in near the CPU. After checking your plugs, see if the board will power up. If so, you should get some beeps or status lights. If not, then it is likely the board has failed. Since you have replaced the original power supply, (assuming the replacement is compatible), it is not likely you have 2 bad power supplies.

If the board DOES power up, then plug in 1 internal device at a time to determine what might be "killing" the boot. A bad hard drive or DVD/CD drive can cause this as well as a shorted USB or firewire device.

Recivery disk

The recovery disk is nothing more than an Windows install disk with all the drivers already in. If you don't have it then install Windows using any other Windows disk and your key and download, save and install the drivers manually after that.
You can find them here
