Indesit 18 in. D41 Slim-Line Free-standing Dishwasher - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How to fix my Indiset d41 dishwasher ?
You have a component down to earth. The problem isn't the start button. Most likely to be the element, but ciuld be wash or drain pump. Check the element with a resistance meter first, when you find the componant at fault, replace it
PROBLEM!
Hi try checking if the drain outlet pipe is blocked by this I mean blow down the pipe it takes a bit of puff but if you cant then there's is something blocking the water from getting out, either a blockage or the water pump not working enabling the washer to start the new cycle
I hope that helps cheers eric

Most probably there are some left overs inside the printer. Open and check again. Sometimes the sensor becomes dusty, just use a blower to clean away all dust in the printer. Try opening the covers and clean away...

I used the solution above and my dishwasher now working!!! I would add, plenty of towels and a tray or three to catch the stinking water that comes out of the outfow when you tip it up. Yes 6 screws to remove the back, but on the Indesit IDL40 two additional longer screws in the centre are helpful to remove. Then just tuck the bit that was attached out of the way. My pump was cream and white - check out pumps online to see what they look like. Undo the one screw holding the pump in place and then you have to twist it to release three little pegs. I washed outs loads of small bits of grit. Then easy to put back together. Re-attach the drain pipe to your drain, electric plug at wall and water inflow pipe. (Check for leaks!) I am so happy! Took me two hours but I had to hunt for the info and find the hidden screwdrivers. Husband will be pleased I think.
Dishwasher overfills?
the water level sensor is disconnected but probably bad and needs to be replaced. This is possible to be done by you but I like when they do it, any thing happens you have there insurance to make repairs and be responsible for property damage.

I left mine disconnected and it leaked did you fix yours?
Indesit D41 dishwasher problem
you need to check the inlet walve . when you start the unit you say it drains. so after the drain do you hear the water entering the dishwasher? If you hear a sound like a buzzing noise that would be the inlet valve working. if thats the case there is a clog at the screen in the valve not allowing the water or enough water in the tub. seeing that this is a portable unit you will also want to check to make sure the fill hose is not kinked up anywhere in the cabinet or under neath the dishwasher. If you hear no buzzing noise you need to check the inlet valve with a meter to first make sure your getting power to it and that the valve itself if good. check these things out and let me know what you found and we can go from there

The door on my machine
Hello
You will need to adjust the dishwasher door latch to fix the door if it will not close. The door latch can come out of alignment from use. Adjusting the latch assembly is a straight forward process on most models of dishwashers. First, remove the securing fasteners for the inner door panel. It is a good idea not to remove the inner door panel completely, just enough that you can access the door latch assembly.
Turn the dishwasher circuit breaker off inside your home electrical panel. Open and close the door and watch where the strike plate makes contact with the door. The strike plate is usually on the front top center of the dishwasher. If the strike plate is out of alignment, it will hit the inside of the door.
Pull the dishwasher out of the counter enough that you can access the strike plate securing Torx screw. You may need to open your dishwasher door and remove the two screws that secure the dishwasher mounting bracket to the bottom of the counter with a Phillips-head screwdriver to pull the dishwasher away from the counter.
Loosen the Torx screw that secures the strike plate to the washer tub with a Torx driver. Adjust the strike plate so the plate will engage the door latch. Retighten the Torx screw and push the dishwasher back under the counter. Secure the brackets to the counter if your dishwasher uses retaining brackets.
Adjust Door Latch
Open the dishwasher door and remove the Torx screws securing the inner door panel to the outer door panel with a Torx driver. The retaining screws are usually around the side edge and top edge of the dishwasher door.
Lift the inner door panel enough that you can loosen the two securing bolts on the door latch with a wrench. You only need to loosen the bolts, not remove them.
Carefully raise the dishwasher door to align the door latch with the strike plate. Hold the door latch with your finger tips when you align the latch. Lower the door and tighten the door latch securing bolts.
Install the inner door panel retaining screws and tighten all screws with the Torx driver. Close the dishwasher door and turn on the circuit breaker.

If things trip as soon as you turn the machine on, rather than waiting until partway through the cycle, then I guess you probably don't have the usual earth fault, which is a degraded heater element.
The fact that things only trip with the door shut isn't all that bizarre - there's an interlock to shut the machine off when you open the door (stops interfering toddlers getting a scalding shower) - sounds like your earth fault is downstream of this.
Once you've eliminated the element, and with a history of a house move, then there's every liklihood that whatever's causing your problem is going to be visible to the naked eye.
With the power and water off, have a good look around inside the back and underneath. I reckon there are three things you should be checking for:
1. Wires that have become dislodged during the move or had metalwork bent into them (concentrate on the underside of the machine, where a mover's trolley might have got in and done some harm
2. Major lumps of machinery having become dislodged by the dishwasher getting dropped.
3. Moisure (especially salt water from the ion exchange bed) which has got swilled around in places it shouldn't have by movers tipping the machine on its side.
For 1 and 2, fix what you see, then see what happens. For 3, wash out any salt contamination, let all freshwater dry out thoroughly (so leave it for three times as long as you think it's going to take) then plug it in and see what happens.

Check your temp sender in case its faulty, but if the enging feels that hot then its could be a number of things. Start with a possibly blocked radiator, or it could be a blown head gasket (is the water system getting pressurised? remove filler cap WHEN COLD and start engine, if it blows the water out or you see bubbles then its a gasket. It could also be that the system is just airlocked (having the header bottle (if fitted) higher than the engine when filling should maybe sort that, also check your heater pipes for bleed scews (fitted if airlocks are a problem on some cars) or maybe youve fitted the thermostat upside down, (check direction of flow). Personally I would go for either an airlocked system or a wrongly fitted thermostat.
