Am I getting high speed thru my actiontec gt704wg

It depends on your DSL connection- technically anything above 56k is "high-speed internet"- if you are concerned about the speeds you are getting, contact Verizon tech support for further assistance- you could have an issue with your connection, and they would be the ones able to setup for a technician to come out/ have the maintenance office repair the connection I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/susan_42b401e0b1603d8a

Hi I want to know

Are you on Consumer Verizon DSL? Fair warning if you are using Business Static- the Actiontec is a poor choice due to issues working on a static IP circuit. - I'd use a 6110 and a third party router! However, by default, the only thing you would need to do to setup the modem is go through the activation page when you plug the modem in. If you require an user name and password, it would set that up. Bar any problems, you can contact Verizon technical support since the Actiontec Gateway is fully supported. Verizon GT704WG DSL Modem wants me to install software

If my memory serves me, I didn't install the software for my Actiontec modem/router combo. I call Verizon and told them I refused to install the software and they helped step me through getting rid of this garbage. You should never have to install software to get a modem or router to work as any software the comes with it, is simply used to provide easier configuration.

Since I couldn't find anything about bypassing this software, I would suggest contacting Verizon directly. Their technical support should be able to assist you.

I have no WI FI in my house and my grand children are comming over and need the internet for minecraft

How do you know that you do not have wifi in the house? that router is a wifi router, do you have any wireless devices that you can try to connect with before your grand kids come over? Like I said the router you have is a wifi router so when the grand kids come over they will probably be able to connect, they will probably just need the SSID and WPA2 key that can be found on a sticker on the router.

Error "virtual server add error" failed. stats: 1

I had this error. There was an old rule for an old device that was no loonger connected. If a device that has a rule is not connected, no information will show up telling you there is a rule. But it already exists and is hidden. The rule will only show up when the device is connected. But the rule is active wether or not the device is connected. The only .I found to fix this is to reset the router to defualt settings, this will remove the old device and it's tules from memotry.

Actiontec GT704WGB from Verizon is working through Earthlink yet Verizon still thinks it is providing service and want to set up my "account"

Sounds like you have Verizon software on your computer. The router has nothing to do with that. Go into control panel > add remove programs and remove the Verizon software.

Cannot connect to 192.168.1.1 to set up wireless in my router

If you fail after ping your IP address then it may be problem in your physical connection,so you should check connection like:check cable modem status light. If it is solid green, it indicates that your cable modem has a good connection. If the light is off, check modem's physical connection.Verify that the Internet light on your wireless router is solid or blinking green. It indicates a good connection and correct wiring. If the light is off, check the Ethernet wire's connection between your modem and router.May be it can be cause of Incorrect wireless network setup & configuration. Recheck and correct the Ethernet connection between your PC and the router device.***If you need any kind of technical assistance you can contact support cell at here
