Memory card not reading in camera

look into the camera with a bright light and see if any pins are bent where the memory card goes in. also check to see if the card is unlocked and check the card to see if it works in another device.

Cannon powershot sd900 lens will not close

work for about 50% of lens errors, but they're worth a try. The list includes:
  1. Remove the batteries and wait a few minutes
  2. Try pressing and holding the Menu, Function, Function Set, or OK while turning on the camera, or otherwise find a "factory reset" option.
  3. Try turning the camera on without a memory card inserted
  4. Place the camera flat on its back and turn it on while holding down the autofocus button, to try to cause the camera to attempt autofocus while the lens is extending
  5. Blow compressed air in any gaps around the lens - or use a shop vac
  6. Use a thin piece of paper or a needle to dislodge any visible bits of grit
  7. Gently tap the camera in an attempt to realign jammed mechanics or dislodge particles (obvious warning: could cause further damage)
  8. Gently push or pull the lens barrel, as a last resort (again, potential for further damage).

Why does canon camera shuts off when trying to download pics

Usually it's because the battery is getting low. Cameras will often shut down to prevent losing data. Make sure the battery is fully charged or the camera is plugged in if it has an external power adapter.

How do I unlock memory card on canon power shot a495?

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

I have a problem with the CCD of my canon powershot A75, and the recall has expired. What shall I do?

I don't mean to sound flip, but in this case buy another camera. You can get a camera far advanced from your early model for around $100 these days

My cannon power shot a75 will not focus. All of the manufacturers symbols are perfectly clear but absolutely no focus when taking a picture.

Have you tried any of the following?Power Reset

1. Make sure camera is off, and then remove the batteries and memory card.

2. Close the battery door.

3. Press and hold down the on/off button for 1 minute.

4. Release the on/off button, and reinsert the batteries and memory card.

5. Power the camera on.Settings Reset

Next reset the settings of the camera to the factory default.

1. While the camera is on, press and hold the menu button for approximately 10 seconds.

2. The screen should then display the message "Reset settings to default".

3. "Cancel" will be highlighted so move to the right and highlight "OK".

4. Press the SET button once "OK" has been highlighted.

5. The screen will say "busy" while the settings are returned to the default

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
