Hot Sync deleted the entire calendar on both the handheld and the desktop. Contacts are still intact.

Hi Tracy, Palm creates a backup file of your data so you can restore that file as long as you have not tried to sync your calendar again (that would create another backup file that would be blank. Here is the link to a forum post that explains how to replace the data file with the backup: Calendar data deleted from Palm Desktop can it be recovered

Error in Palm Desktop on PC

You need version Palm desktop v6.2 (not v4) to run under Vista. If you have the 64 bit version of Vista you will have to use Bluetooth to transfer data, not USB. Enjoy and please rate this post.

I haave been using my

"I was asking a bout the information on the computer not the hand held. I know the battery is dead. I know I should have backed it up but I didn't."

Hello,

depending on how the address vanished, it may be retrievable and it may not. If the address was deleted then it cannot be retrievable, but if it vanished on it's on, then it maybe somewhere in the computer.

You can try performing a system restore. System restore helps to back date your computer. You could probably back date your computer to the period/time when the addresses were still in the computer. To restore Click Start > All programs > Accessories > System tools > System restore. Your computer will be restarted in the process. After that, try again.

If the above doesn't work, and you are sure the address wasn't deleted from the computer, then it means it has to be somewhere on your hard disk.

Go to "My computer", "Drive C:". Click the "Programs Files", look for a folder relating to the Palm software, look inside the folder and you might find the address there....

I hope the above makes sense to you. And please let me know if you have any more questions concerning this.

Regards.

My T3 is stuck on the digitizer. No matter how

I would pull the battery and leave it out for 30 seconds, place it back in, turn the unit on, and try again.

Palm one address database in old mdb extension

I am assuming you are using windows and not MAC? Since you have stated you are using MS access file format, it should be PD 6.2. There is no way to convert the file format that I am aware of.

You will need to "clean" uninstall PD 6.2 and install PD 4.1.4e.

Here is the link to PD 4.1.4e

After you install 4.1.4e, create the same username you had on the previous install of PD, close PD, navigate to c-program files-palm and find the username folder. Paste the address.dat file you have into the address folder in the username folder. Open PD and see if the data is there.

Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. (If you need help on the export the manual details are here)

Make sure you select all for the range in the export window.

With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive.

Anytime you make a change in Palm Desktop, export the data that was changed to that folder and save again to the external media.

With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.

I hope that helps and I have answered everything.

My Tungsten T3, from time to time, turns itself off

Issue rather seems software related, if Battery issue usually comes up with low battery alert.
A full (Hard) reset can be a good solution to be sure if its Software related. If you do so make sure you have backup of all your data as full reset will set everything to factory default and will erase the personal data

Good Luck
