My Nikon coolpix l820 the screen doesn't work on camera setting but does on the video camera setting
hi,
when the still camera works the shutter of the aperture and iris is opening for a limited time, if it opens without limit the excess light will enter in and the result will be blurry picture, if the shutter is not opening the picture will be dark. in movie mode the shutter will be always in opened state, so I think there may be fault in shutter.
in some cases a slight jerk giving to cam when you depressing the snap button will reset the shutter and will work normally.
S3000 monitor = charged but LCD monitor still do not turn ob

check the LCD connector whether it is fixed properly, do not insert fully inside the connecting jig, a little gap must get, still problem persist,please test the back light of the LCD with a multi tester,if the needed voltage is not present, check the motherboard,

I think your question is about the camera picture,if so the fault is in the iris or aperture unit inside the lens, in some cases the flexible cable in this unit become break, difficult to get separately, but the total lens unit is available, change with a new one.
How do i get l camera to turn on?
Since you did not say which model number you are inquiring about, I can only give you general information. On Nikon Coolpix cameras there is a button (usually small) that you push in and hold for 2 or 3 seconds to turn the camera on or off.

From a look at the spec, neither the lens nor the back of the camera can be removed except by qualified technicians. Have you tried your local camera repairer ?
