How do i fix this problem?

Self check: Do you see the BIOS or CMOS flash screen. If so BIOS or CMOS is not corrupted. One of these below would be the problem:1. check your battery status, there might be problem with the battery, try changing the Laptop battery. 2. The Bios or CMOS might be corrupted. If so you should hot flash the BIOS or CMOS. (Hot flashing is getting the BIOS or CMOS executible from your laptop manufacturer website into USB pen drive and booting it from it to repair or reinstall or reflash the BIOS or CMOS)3. There might be problem with your laptop screen.4. There might be problem in the graphics chip.Suggested solutions:Check all of the suggested problems, if the problem is 3 & 4 you should take it to the repair technician to replace it with the new screen or graphics chip.Regards-Dileep

Need to update bios toshiba satellite c660,using ubuntu live dvd, will not boot hard drive, all normal recovery options used up

Hi There,There are currently no easy ways to update a bios through linux at all - including live cd's. Your best bet is to make a bios update USB stick (or floppy depending on the age of the computer)Here's a link to those instructions:http://www.biosflash.com/e/bios-boot-usb-stick.htmAlternatively, speaking from my own experience with a similar situation, you can take the hard drive out, use it in place of the usb stick, boot from it, update your bios, and go from there.

Trying to remove the lid from a toshiba c660

The lid has to come off. Make sure you remove the strip that is right above the keyboard so that you can get to the screws that hold the lcd in place. Also remove the screws on the bottom of the laptop that are right under the lcd screen. Sometimes there are screws on the back side of the lcd screen that have to be removed.

!!!no reaction on plugging the ac adaptor.!!!

Sound like the LCD screen's inverter is causing an short/overload and the power adapter is shutting down (thermal cutout).Remove the LCD screen and connect an external monitor, power up the external monitor first and the boot up the laptop. The video should automatically on the external monitor. If the display on the external monitor is OK then the fault could be the inverter which is located at the bottom of the LCD screen between the hinges.LCD screens and Inverters for your laptop maybe available from this WEB site.www.lcdparts.net
