Frigidaire FPHD2491KF Dishwasher Questions & Answers
Burnt plastic smell (per tenent) during dry cycle. I saw no melted parts on heating coil. Where to look next?
Hello Jon, thank you for your post!
Based off what you have described the Frigidaire dishwasher is giving off a burnt smell. You may need to check under the dishwasher to verify all the components are in proper working order. The element may have touched the tub or spray arm and this may have caused the smell. I would suggest having a professional technician out to your home for proper diagnosis and repair. Hopefully this information is helpful to you. -Matt
Spray arms not working
Hi frustrated in Raleigh,
I understand that the spray arms are not moving or spraying water, even after you have cleaned the screens and arms. What might be happening is you are not getting enough water pressure to the dishwasher.
The hot water line to your dishwasher must provide water pressure between 20 and 120 psi.
Low water pressure may occur when laundry or showers are in operation.
Wait until water use is reduced before starting dishwasher.
If you are still noticing that the spray arms are not moving or spraying water, I would have a local Authorized Technician come out to see what exactly is going on with the spray arms of your dishwasher.

Circulation pump not running
Hi Dok, thank you for your post!
I'm not sure what you are referring to as the circulation pump; however your Frigidaire dishwasher, FPHD2491KF, does have a drain pump. Therefore, if your dishwasher is water left in sump, then more than likely it would need replacing. Is your dishwasher making a grinding noise? If so, then it would be advisable to connect with a professional to accurately diagnose the drain motor. You can locate a certified technician directly through the manufacturer website or in your local directory to determine what may be causing the issue at hand.
Best regards!
Dishwasher will not drain
Good Morning Gord, thank you for your post!
If your dishwasher is not draining, it could possibly have a clogged drain hose or you have a faulty drain pump. First, I recommend cleaning the glass trap that is located in the center of your dishwasher designed to collect pieces of broken straws, bones, glass, etc. The filter can be removed for cleaning by simply grasping the handle and then lifting it out. Place filter back in its location and run a complete cycle. If you continue to have water left in the sump and your dishwasher is making a grinding noise, then it is recommended to reach out to a professional to diagnose the drain motor. You can often locate a certified technician directly through the manufacturer website or in your local directory.
Best regards!
The light indicating the dishes are clean is not
Hello Tami, thank you for your post!
Let's try resetting your dishwasher. This can be done by either
unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is important to
wait approximately ten minutes and then turn the unit on. Will the light illuminate for the clean dishes? If it
does not, then an experienced service technician may need to further evaluate
this issue if it was not resolved with the power reset. In this case, your unit
may possibly be experiencing a communication problem with the control board/pad
or a potential wiring failure.
Arms are sometimes not turning (intermittent)
Hi Gaetan, I am happy to assist you. Will the spray arm
rotate freely or is it damaged? If so, you might have to remove and replace the
spray arm assemblies. Another possibility may be that not enough water is being pumped to the spray arm. The
top spray arm typically starts to function when the unit is in rinse or wash
cycle. If for some reason the top rack is not getting clean, there is a
possibility that it is not working properly. The top spray arm is either
blocked by pots/pans or not enough water pressure is being pump meaning that
the flow of water is not making it to the upper spray arm. If you tap the delivery tube that feeds
this nozzle and the water pressure jumps immediately, then the problem may lie
with a faulty pump or impeller. Should all basic troubleshooting
measures fail contact a certified technician to narrow down the precise issue
before investing in parts that may or may not be the root cause.
Washpump
Good Afternoon bbriones113 - From what you are stating,
there is water entering and leaving the unit and the heating element is
working. However, what exactly is the issue the unit is experiencing? From my
understanding the unit is completing the cycle, but what do you mean by the
washpump is not working? Could you please be a little more specific and with
this information I can better address the issue. Thank you and I look forward
to your response.
