My laptop keep shuting off
Hello.
The most common reasons are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.
Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.
If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to
the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the
problem.
The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.
If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement, if a power issue.
If not a power issue, then either you have a memory issue or operating system problem.
First, disconnect all cables. Be certain to dispel static electricity by touching metal. Remove the cover. Try reseating (removing and reinserting) your memory (try one module at a time to test).
If still a problem, boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly). Go to System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK. Note: with System Restore, everything, including your documents and other files you saved on the hard drive, will roll back to that date.
To access System Restore in Windows 7: Open the Start Menu. Click on All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and System Restore
Hope this helps.

My Toshiba Satellite A215-S7444 turns off
I'm gonno bump this as it's a massive problem with Toshiba laptops and so many peoples questions are unanswered. I have a Toshiba Satellite A210-11p with an Ati mobility radeon 2600hd graphics card. I have spent years dealing with this problem. Some people will have heat problems, this is a common problem with them, but some laptops will cut out when you go to play say a video or play a game. This is a graphics card problem!! nothing else it is purely a graphics card problem, the second you go to load something when Maximise Performance on the graphics card turned on the laptop will cut out like it shorts out. the charger light on the laptop will flicker and it will make a clicking sound when it cuts out.
Can someone please find a reason and a solution to this extremely common and fatal flaw in toshiba satellite laptops

This
could be a sign that your laptop is overheating. If you touch the
laptop while it is running & you find it too hot, make sure that the
fan is running properly & that the air ways are not blocked.
You
can blow compressed air into the cooling vents of the fan. If you
notice clouds of dust coming out, then it might be a good idea to
disassemble the laptop, clean the fan & air ways, & reassemble
it back. If the fan has failed & is no longer running, it might need
to be replaced.

I cannot boot from the cd rom to do a fresh
Most computers need to have the boot order reset in the Bios to enable booting from cd. The following should be the correct way to access the Bios setup for this model.
Starting with the system powered off (not in sleep/suspend or
hibernate mode)-Start with the system powered off. Press the power
button and then immediately press and hold the Esc key while the system
runs the
POST (Power On Self Test). When the POST finishes, a prompt will appear
telling
you to press the F1 key to enter BIOS Setup. At that time, press the F1
key to
access the BIOS Setup program.
Once in the Bios setup, change the boot order to boot first from cd, then save changes and exit. You should then be able to run the cd install.

If none of this solves the problem, or is not the case, then you might have a bad motherboard.

My toshiba satellite a205-s5804 is turning it self
Check if its overheating underneith, also restart then go to F2 while the laptop is starting to go to BIOS settings and check the settings to the temperature if its set to turn of at a certain temperature then it is probably why it shuts down. If it doesnt turn off all most imidiately after it stated, then it very likely it overheating, this could be caused from number of reasons. Also take the battery out and plug it in the mains see if it is gonna turn of while runing on mains only, another thing you could try is download and flash the bios if theres an update available but only from the manufacturers site ( when flushing the bios you must make sure the lapotp is powered by lid and this coudl go wrong if the laptop is shut unexpectedly, so you might want to let someone with the knoladge to do that for you ) Try using the laptop on a hard surface it might help.

White Screen - Unable to See Desktop GUI.
Two separate problems, sounded like..
White screen? If external video is okay then it's likely (1) a bad screen, or (2) a disconnected video cable.
If the system shuts down, I'd check the fan - if the fan is reasonably clean and running, then it's probably a bad motherboard.

This may be heat related. Does it happen often and does it happen after a certain amount of time running?
I would suggest starting by taking a can of compressed air to the fan and all the air slots to remove any dust;

My 4 year old Toshiba INtel Pentium laptop
Hi
Thank you for your query
From what you are describing it sounds like a intermittent motherboard issue
Please try the following
1) Switch on your Laptop
2) Press F12 or del key or esc to enter bios mode
3) Once in bios mode leave there and see if it shuts down
4) If it does shutdown thne you are having a overheating issue and i belive it will be the heat sink that has gone faulty, you will need to book into a reputable PC shop for repair
5) If it doesnt shut down in this mode then you have a softwqare issue and will need to carry out a full reformat of the laptop
If this has been useful please leave positive feedback/vote/testimonial as this will help me greatly - Thank you again

Graphics Card Driver for Toshiba Satellite 1805-S274
Hello Ewuare,
Here is a link to Toshiba's Satellite Support Downloads page: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp. I couldn't locate the model number you posted above there, so you may want to double check it. You can find updated Graphics card drivers for your machine there.
Good luck.
