Linksys wrt54gs cant connect..
hi try this before you hit the reset botton.
Check if Windows XP firewall or 3rd party firewall are blocking the pings, and temporarily disable them just to be sure.
The WRT54GS has a feature called "AP Isolation", It's on the "Wireless -> Advanced Settings" page. You won't need it for home use so turn it off as well.
Last thing, do a firmware upgrade.
Hope it's helps
Good luck.

Linksys router not connecting
Very hard to say without getting into more technical details. Sounds like you may have a bad router, but more likely there is something wrong with the setup. You probably need someone with technical expertise to walk you through all the steps.
Have you tried calling Linksys tech support? They may be able to help. Also, you might try buying a different router just to give it a try. I've had good success with Netgear in addition to Linksys. I generally stay away from DLink.

PASSWORD ROUTER LINKSYS
LOST ROUTER LOGIN PASSWORD
If you have forgotten your personal router login password there is no way to recover it. You will have to reset the router. This means all the settings on the router will be reset to factory defaults. It also means that all your connected devices will need to be connected again with the new security information (WEP, WAP, etc,) . You will need the default admin login name and the default admin password. This can be found in the user guide that came with the router. This can usually be found online at the router manufacturers site.
There is usually a button or a switch hidden in a pinhole opening on the back of the router. Pressing and holding the switch for 10 seconds or so will cause the reset and usually the LEDs will flash and blink for several seconds as the router firmware resets and clears out the old information.
If you are trying to get into someone else's router illegally there is no way to find out their login password.
For future reference, write the password down, or a hint at what the password is, on a piece of tape and secure it on the bottom of the router. I use my cell phone memo function to store all my passwords.

Already plugged in and use
It seems that the installation files from the disc is corrupted. I suggest that you first connect your laptop to another router so you can download the drivers from
Linksys Support Site. Under Downloads tab, you must choose the right version which can be found at the bottom of the router. Then install the said drivers before you connect to the WRT54GS router. Hope it helps.

IP Address Errors
It sounds like you may be having IP address conflicts. Many Xbox users have a fixed IP address set in their unit and then have a Port Forwarding done in the router to provide faster play. If you reset the router all this is lost. Then what can happen is that the router will assign a device the reserved IP address of the Xbox. When you turn the Xbox on, then it cannot connect as there is another device already assigned that address. Reconfiguration is required to prevent IP conflicts.
