Zebra 105Se Thermal Printer Questions & Answers
My zebra 105se printhead light is blinking yellow
The printhead light blinking usually means that the printhead is open. Is this happening with the printhead locked down ? If this is the case, the problem is with printhead open flag. It is located on the electronic side of the printer. You need to take off the side cover (with printer turned off). The lever that raises and closes the printhead is attached to a shaft (the pressure toggle is also on this shaft). Follow this shaft to the electronic side of the printer.
At the end of this shaft, there will be a black rectangular piece of plastic. This is the head open flag. When printhead is closed, the flag is positioned at the six o'clock position between two optic sensors. When the printhead is opened, the flag rotates clockwise to about the nine o'clock position. If the HEAD OPEN message appears when the head is closed, then the flag is out of position, usually it has become loose on the end of the shaft.
The flag is attached to the end of the shaft with an allen screw. Make sure the head is closed, position the flag to the six o'clock position between the two sensors and tighten the screw. this should take care of the problem.
Hope that helps !
I notice there is the
in XP every printer driver has DEFAULTS. These are very limited and its up to the DRIVER what things it lets you Default. right click any printer in the printers list and choose properties, then click advanced, then click the Printing Defaults button, and make your changes and apply them. if it does not let you choose what you need to then its the fault of the driver for the printer.
My zebra 105Se keeps printing blank labels.
Do the labels come out right when you print locally? That is the first thing to see. Serial devices over a network are tricky. Baud rate and what to do with CR LF, stop bits, parity etc. need to be right.
Skipping labels
Do you use adhesive labels? It looks like the printer is unable to make the difference betwen the labels. Verify that the printer it's not set on Continuous mode for the media type. Verify if there is any label (or pice of label) stiked on the upper media sensor (gap sensor). You can locate the upper media sensor using the User Manual (page 74). There is an User Manual available for download from Zebra website. You will find there precious information. The manual is very explicit and you will learn how to maintain your printer and how to troubleshoot some common errors. Clean your printer, assure to put the supplies on the right path, close the printhead and press Pause to enter in Ready state.
You can clean the sensor with an coton cloth dampened into isopropylic alcohol.
