Hi.. The Printpix NC-1000 can be connected to any computer. You must install a SCSI-II controller card to connect it to. With that you will need no other drivers. You need to use your computer to be able to print pictures from your printpix 1000. Another way to is to transfer the pictures from the CD to a portable media storage like a Compact Flash card, Memory Stick, Smart Media or SD card. This printer is designed for you to print pictures that you have recently taken from a digital camera. Digital cameras use Compact Flash card, Memory Stick, Smart Media or SD cards to save picture files. All you need to do is Take out the memory card from the camera and stick it in your printpix 1000. This is a really neat machine.

drum or belt has a problem

Have you tried calibrating the print head? Turn off the printer and the controller. Turn the printer on. Once the process light turns off, hold down the exec button and press the left arrow. "Please wait" is shown on the screen, and after a while it starts making noises and the screen changes to "calibrating". This is supposed to solve that problem. It didn't for me, but it's a start.

you can purh exec and log at once press then left arrow twice until mode3 cartridch, then push exec in each of 3 sub rutines to get off and you will hear a litle sound and be able to open both.

Because you don't have the controller you will need to purchase a SCSI-II card for the PC and connect it with a cable. D-sub 25pinx2 cable.  You can get a card like maybe an Adaptec aha2930 and
you can use a DB 25pin serial cable to connect the two.  you will probably need male-male.
