NetGear RangeMax WPN824 Router Questions & Answers
Netgear wpn824 router problem
Sounds like you[ve already found the solution. The sledgehammer combined with going out to buy a new router (anything but Netgear) should do the trick. It's much better than spending countless hours on the phone with a tech from India who doesn't know shit and only asks questions that they are reading from a transcript. Their customer service is shit and so are their products.
I have 2 netgear routers, both wnr1000v2 -
If your routers are more than three years old, it's time to replace them. I had one 4 years ago, and it was on all the time. It finally died after 2 years. It acted pretty much the same as yours do now. Time to upgrade!
Can i put some kind of password or security code
Netgear is not a browser. It is a Router. For the sake of this question I would assume you were talking about the Router, what do you mean by "Lock"? You can change the default password, and no one will be able to access it. If you only want specific devices to connect to the router, you can:
1) Enable MAC Filtering
2) Disable DHCP, and assign Static IP addresses to the devices
3) Hide SSID (Not Broadcast it)
Password access zyxel
Generally it is ADMIN and PASSWORD unless it has been changed then all you would need to do is do a hard reset.Hard reset is performed by holding the reset button for 15 sec while plugged in ,remove power cord then plug in power cord again.Just remember 15 sec. for each without removing you finger from the reset button.
I have been offered a Netgear N150 DGN1000
Well this product DGN1000 is a generic router supplied by Netgear and can be used with any ADSL/DSL ISP. Please ensure that you upload the latest firmware for this router from the netgear support site and then you can use it with other ADSL/DSL ISP.
Hope this allows you to resolve the issue. If you need further assistance then let me know.

Anand
Unabale to access internet with wireless Panasonic
1) sometimes just delete network info from panasonic then put it back in
2) sometimes change security type in router (login and change from wpa whatever to WEP and see if it likes a simpler less secure security type better.
3) maybe it just isn't getting good signal inside that entertainment center... wireless doesn't pass through stuff very well.
Reset
You
can reset your Netgear router/wireless wpn824
router to the factory settings from within the
router manager. The reset procedure removes all user-configured settings
and returns the router to the original factory settings. For this
reason, only reset the router if you encounter problems that can't be
solved with other methods.Step 1:
Check that your Netgear router/wireless wpn824
router is properly connected with your system
or not. If it is OK, then press reset button on Netgear router for at
least 10 seconds. The 'test' light should flash during this process.
Step 2: Now open browser and enter Netgear's IP address into the address bar. Generally, '192.168.0.1' is the Netgear router IP address but you can find specific IP address in Netgear wpn824
router manual.
Step 3: Now enter your default username and password to log in to router.Step 4: Click 'Erase' button under the 'Revert to Factory Default Settings'.
This process will erase all your previous changes that have been made
to the router and restore the configuration settings to factory setting.
Don't interrupt the process until the process is finished.
Once the router's 'test' light has stopped blinking and the configuration page you are on has refreshed, the wpn824
router has been reset. Feel free to get instant online Netgear router support at http://www.vtechsquad.com/netgear-router-support/ to fix Netgear router/wireless router issues.
My netgear wpn824wireless router does not start up . the lights just stay on. what do i do ????
- open Command Prompt, type 'ipconfig/all' and hit Enter. Check Default Gateway, it should be 192.168.1.1, your Netgear device's IP address.
- If you are still unable to browse the Internet, ping your router's connection to the PC. Open Command Prompt, type 'ping 192.168.1.1', hit Enter. If your PC is receiving connection from your Netgear device, you will see a message like Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes etc. If there is no connection, you may see the Request timed out message.
- The Request timed out error can occur due to two things: (1). incorrect physical connection between your Netgear device and the PC or (2) incorrect wireless network setup & configuration. Recheck and correct the Ethernet connection between your PC and the Netgear device. Also reinstall the TCP/IP stack and update Netgear device driver software.
- When done, check back if you can browse the Internet or not. If the problem persists, hard reset your Netgear wireless router
