Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-34HS420
It is most likely a degaussing issue - replace the PTC thermistor (this is usually a 3-pin device located near the fuse in the power supply board; each has a different part number for different TV models and tube sizes) - check for dry solder joints on it first though, if they are intact, note the part number, as well as its reference on the PCB, order a replacement, fit it (they usually only fit one way on the board). I doubt this model uses electronic degaussing so the part itself should be easy enough to get hold of.
It might also be a good idea to borrow an electric degaussing wand from a workshop as well if you can, to fully remove the extraneous magnetic fields around the tube. This should hopefully solve your purity problem.

I have a sony trinitron
That will be cased by a weak tube. The AKB circuitry is not working properly as it has to reach beyond its tollerance.
The tube is not tracking properly and the circuitry cannot acheive an acceptable colour balance.

If the picture is washed out showing poor color it is the picture tube that is the problem, overtime the emission from the guns gradually declines until the picture balance is lost and it progressively gets worse. I recommend you replace it since repairs would involve a new picture tube and cost more than a new set.

I have a verizon universal remote and a sony
The codes for Sony TV's include: 0128, 0013, 0002, 0071, 0380, and 0152. Good luck! There are also universal remote controls that identify codes for equipment on its own. I picked up a cheap one from Walmart for $4.94! It took 2 to 3 minutes after I inserted the batteries and read the instructions for it to be successful. Aloha!

I forgot parental control passcodep
Hello
Just reset your tv to factory settings. By doing this all the settings will be set to its orginal factory mode, and you have to reset all the settings including V-Chip settngs. To set it to factory settings do the following.
Switch off the TV wiith its front panel power ON-OFF switch and wait for about 5 minutes.
1 Press POWER to turn on the TV.
2 Hold down RESET on the remote control.
3 Press TV POWER on the TV. (The TV will turn itself off, then back
on.)
4 Release RESET.
OK.

Screen is red
Hello
The red colour output section in your TV has some short in it. This section can be located at the picture tube base card, the printed circuit board along with some components are fitted with it. There will be three cathodes, Red, Green and Blue; usually marked as Kr, Kg and Kb. Take the voltages of these pin points at this board. It should be almost the same. In your TVs case, the voltage at the red cathode will be very low now. Look whether transisotrs or Ic is used for video output section in this side. Usually Sony uses transistors. Check the resistor at the collector of red output transistor. If it is open, replace it. If the resistor is OK and still there is no voltage, and the said resistor heats up abnormally, the transistor related to it is leaky [collertor-to- emitter short]. Replace it with same type and number will solve your problem. OK.

6 blinks and no picture. Solution said no
It means you have a high voltage problem on the main board, without this no picture can be generated. This will require a tv tech to troubleshoot the problem.

I have a sony trinitron puchased 2001 after 911
Hello
Complete loss of horizontal oscillation and output is the trouble. To get it repaired you have to open your TV, Just look the horizontal driver transformer, a small transformer fitted on the main board very near to the line output transformer [LOT] for winding opened. If its primary winding gets opend, even though the horizontal oscillator section works, the pulses will not reach the horizontal output trnasistor, which drive the above said LOT, and the fault you describes will occur. Check the main secondary regulated supply voltage [140VDC] also. If this voltage is missing, check the reason and follo the supply rail print from the SMPS power supply reguator section.
Check the low voltage regulator IC, usually 7808 or 7812, which can be located on the main board, which supplies 8VDC or 12VDC to the ICs on the main board. Anyway, there is no horizontal output fuction in your tV. and try to find it. If you wants furthermore assistance, feel free to get me through Fixya. OK.

Picture blurred
blurred picture can be adjusted, and sometimes replacing of crt socket will solve the problem.
this is tricky so i've advice you to follow what i've said strictly.
Open the back cover of your set (make sure that you unpluged the unit first).
Look for the flyback transformer (it has a sunction cup connected to the picture tube).
You will see an adjustment knob on it, it mark focus but wait before touching, mark it with your pentel pen, marking the original location of the knob is important because that is the factory align.
After marking get an screw driver w rubber insulator as a handle to avoid an electric shock, this will be used to adjust the focus on the flyback knob.
Turn on the unit and hooked it up by your dvd player.
Play the dvd so that you will see a picture on the screen.
Pause it with a picture with characters.
Now you can see the blurred picture?
Try to adjust the focus on the flyback back and forth minimal turn only.
There's a reaction?Yes- continue to get a perfect picture and youre done.
There's a reaction?No- back the knob on its original position.
Your crt socket is faulty.
try some helped of your technician or people knowledgeable of disoldering and soldering technique.
Pull the board on the crt socket.the socket which attached to the tube is the one you are going to replaced. I've adviced you to observe first and familiarized what are going to dis-assemble because you will do the same when you replaced a new one.
After replacing your crt socket, picture ok?Yes-you're done
After replacing your crt socket, picture ok?no-picture tube is faulty.........

My KV-34HS420 periodically displays an orange
hi,
check ur tv for any dry soldering of component leads in the power supply and horizontal output side. also replace the electrolytic capacitor in the B+ supply rail.
u have to check the picture tube base board also for any dry soldering of components, if so the first mentioned complaint ( orange screen) will erase.
ok

Picture will not come on
hi,
first check is there is any dry soldering on the circuit board. by 6 blinks its means its horizontal side is not working. may be because of problem with the main chroma ic( its a jungle of horizontal, vertical, sync, and colour.). also check the horizontal driver transistor and transformer.
also check one more thing the horizontal power supply voltage. check the protection zenar in its rail.
ok

Power on, sound no picture for three seconds,
-
Six blinks - No
Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis
function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.
That means no horizontal output which could be caused by a faulty driver stage or even a faulty power supply.
Hope that helps.
