Trendnet TE100-P1U v2.0, USB light goes dark.

A couple of things I would try:
  • Start the Print Server, then insert the USB cable.
  • Plug in a self-powered USB port, and plug the printer cable into that. That could help if the print server is having trouble with the amount of power drawn by the printer.

Trendware TRENDnet TE100-P1U Print Server won't

OK, are you doing all this as Administrator? This is a must do.
Are you sure that you have the right IP address?
Can you Ping the unit?
Try another browser to do so, try Firefox, or Google Chrome.
Is your Ethernet cable OK?
Is the Driver a Win 7? if not perhaps you need to set compatibility mode for XP SP2? AND Run as Administrator.
Is UAC set to OFF.

If 64 Bit system has Digital Driver Signing been set to OFF, if the driver isn't digitally signed? (Press F8 at boot up and choose from bottom of list)
Also make sure that you have Disabled DHCP server in ALL PC's, go to Services, and see if it is disabled? It needs to be.
Below is the install how to, have a look at it, see if it's the same as yours?

OK, try this hook directly to the PS, from a PC via, use an standard Ethernet cable, use a direct connection, Do NOT go through the router/ switch, now try setting it all up. Now you should see it connect to the unit,
You should be able to access it, if direct connected, if it still doesn't respond, then the only thing it can now be is a faulty unit?
If OK, once configured then you can hook it up as per diagram, and it should then work.

Printer is offline ever

I would suggest you one option if the operating system is windows. You have to go to Start -->Control Panel --> Printers and Faxes . Then you will see your printer icon there. RIght click on that. Check whether you are having an option "Use printer Online" or "Set printer Online". If you have that option , just click on that and apply the settings and see what happens - Thank you

Trendnet TE100-P1U won't print

open the print server utility and the doc can be cancelled or deleted from there. (this is the server utility inthe toolbar at the bottom of a windows screen. failing this go to the printer shortcut and from control panel>printers> select printer and faxes>select the printer (open) >select "printer" from menu bar, pause printing, then cancel all documents. Afterthis you can delete printers that are excessivly created, or delete all of them and start again with only the one or two printers you need. even if one is for network use and the ther is direct connect. You canuse direct connect to verify proper printer operation until te100 is working properly

tip

2 good tips I learned during setup

1. The print server address is indepent of the router address. You have to set the print server address manually, and then 'add a printer' and assign it matching properties. For the individual who kept getting .102 then .103 (I did too), here's the fix. You need to assign an address that is higher than the max DHCP options. On my Linksys router setup, I found that it started assigning at .100 with a max of 50 users (up to .150). Therefore, I went into the print server and assigned mine .175. Then, I added a printer and under its properties, assigned the matching IP address.

2. When assigning the IP address (192.168.0.175 for mine) during 'Add a Printer', the Port field below it automatically fills in with an address of something like IP_192..... I had left this the same and followed the instructions from Trendnet as well. It did not work. Well the final solution that finally allowed me to print after hours of frustration, was to manually change this Port field to 'U1' thus matching the pop-up window that Trendnet instructions walk through (the one with LPR and bit enabling etc.) where it says to input U1. I decided to try U1 as the Port and it worked. And it was beautiful to hear the printer start cranking after hours of frustration. Good luck.
