You can buy eyepieces from many on-line retailers. Eyepieces come in 3 sizes .965, 1.25 and 2 inch sizes. The .965 size is harder to find. Measure the HOLE in the focuser or the diagonal and buy the correct size.

Here is one on-line retailer that sells eyepieces:

I need to find an Eyepiece for my grandsons

Most telescopes use a standard size for eyepieces (one and a quarter inches outside diameter) and if that is the size of the mount in your scope, you can use any that fit. If you do a search on Amazon, you will find hundreds in this size, many of them branded Meade. The other dimension specified will be focal length. 5mm will give high magnification (but dimmer and harder to use) while 20mm will give lower magnification with brighter image and less fiddly focus.

The diagonal simply slips inside the hole at the rear of the telescope. A small thumb screw secures it. The eyepiece then goes into the diagonal.

Just set it up and it picks up no objects

This is a small REFRACTOR style telescope of 60mm. Not much larger than a pair of 10x50mm binoculars.

Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the telescope. DO NOT use the 2x or 3x barlow if you have one. Practice focusing on a distant object during the day time. The moon should be your first object at night.

If you have a refractor style telescope like the picture, put the diagonal into the scope, DO NOT USE the 2x barlow if you have one.

Then put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the diagonal. Go outside during the day and practice focusing on a distant object.
