Can you guys please elaborate on what the work-around was for this issue?

I too have the same problem with the DC-DC board on the Sharp AVC. But I didn't spend the $134 for a replacement board (MCM or Newark).Instead, I used the reflow technique by placing the circuit board in the oven for 7 minutes at 475F. You need to cover the plastic header connectors (about 7 of them) with foils to protect them from direct heat (and melt). Take the board out of the oven and give a little pressure on all the ICs while the board is hot. Let it cool down and voila! The TV is working again...

Most likely the power supply board needs to be replaced. One or more of the capacitors is probably going bad. If you don't know what you're doing, DON'T OPEN THE TV UP TO FIX IT, THERE ARE HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES ON THE POWER SUPPLY BOARD, EVEN WEEKS AFTER THE TV IS UNPLUGGED! The capacitors in particular have the high voltage. If you don't know how to do it yourself, find some local Electronic repair shops, get quotes, try to find reviews on the shops.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. The sound can be muted or the sound is directed to a port that you don't use. The main board controls the sound, so if it's not muted or misdirected, then replace the main board.

The DC/DC converter went out on your set. When you take the top off of your AVC box look for a 4" X 5" circuit board mounted on the front left corner. I have seen these fail causing you white screen. Order the part from your local Sharp service center. Part # RDENCA089WJZZ

Try resetting to factory specs.

most likely lcd panel defect repair cost is non-economical call manufacturer see if they will assist with repair cost.

If you are using a Universal remote for this tv, then there are more than one correct codes, I would try another that is similar that will operate everything on your set. Sharps has many numbers you just have to find the one that works everything.

Thr power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors.These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable,and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

This television doesn't have lamps to change. Perhaps you need a Backlight Inverter/Inverter Board? If you aren't sure what exactly the television needs it would have to be evaluated. The television would have to be serviced by someone familiar with the boards/parts to ensure the actual problem is corrected if correction is possible.

Tries to reset the tv Tuner board back to factory setting.By go into the tv menu.Go to PICTURE,go down to reset the Tuner board.All the HDMI ports should work now.Not,than the HDMI port 2 is shorted and dead,don't used the HDMI port 2.The tv should work fine,or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish Tuner board for the replacement.
