Slowing slow and probems keep coming
Hello Nancy,There are many reasons a computer can slow down. Here are some maintenance procedtures you should do on a regular basis. You should defrag your hard disk ona regular basis to keep your computer up to speed. Many of these tasks can be automated with the scheduling features in Windows. Check for and install any operating system updates. Make sure you have "Automatic Updates" turned on. Run a full system anti-virus and anti-spyware scan. Make sure your anti-virus and anti-spyware software are up to date. If you don't have these on your computer, there are many good free anti-virus software. Do a Google search for free anti-virus and anti-spyware. Also, clear the cache on your browser. Delete all history and cookies and temp folders. There are also websites such as http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ that does free online scans. You should also stop unwanted progams from stsrting. To do this go to Start menu, enter msconfig, and click OK. Click startup and uncheck startup programs you don't use. Then click services and uncheck services you don't use. If after doing this and something stops working that you need, again bring up startup and services and re-check the ones you want to run. These basic maintenance steps should help keep your computer running up to speed. I hope this helps you.
I am getting rid of
To exactly identify what a hard disk looks like...go to google.com and type "hard disk" then click on "images" at the upper lefthand side of a google page. You will see a lot of pictures of a hard disk or hard drive. It comes in two formats though for desktops, IDE and SATA. The one that has a connector that is about half-inch wide is the SATA type. The IDE has the 40-pin wide flat 'ribbon' cable.
If you need to access it through a USB port, get a USB adapter for the hard drive. It comes with the power supply brick too (for 3.5-inch drives).
My aunt gave me this
If she gave you the set of CD-ROM disks to reinstall Windows, then use those disks.
Set a new password, during the installation.
The power switch on the front no longer works.
Check the cable where it connects to the motherboard. Check the cable where it connects to the switch, resolder any loose connections. Usually these do not break easily, but if it is broken you can buy a generic switch at newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812201029&cm_re=power_switch-_-12-201-029-_-Product)
I am having a problem with the display. It seems
It could be your video card. To confirm, use a different monitor with your computer and see if the same problem happens with the other monitor.
If the other monitor works fine, then the problem is with the original monitor; otherwise its the video card.
If the video card is built-in to your motherboard, there's not much you can do to fix it. If it's a separate card, I would suggest taking out the video card, inspecting the connectors for debris, and then re-insert the card. This "reseating" of the card might resolve your problem.
Make sure that you disconnect the power cable from your computer to prevent you from electrocuting yourself.
How do you get your computer to do the matrix?
if your referring to the random green charectors dropping from top to bottom like the film "The Matrix" you can get many free windows screensavers that do this, but it requires your PC to be idle (not being used).
here is a link to one found from a quick google search (please note i do not endorse or suggest you use this one as there are loads out there)

hope this helps.
I would like to know if my pc can be up graded
Why ??? A water cooling system will not improve anything.. Just make sure that you have decent heatsinks and fans fitted with case fans that both draw air into the case and push it out.
I run a quad core pentium with an Nvidia NX graphics card, 3 gig ram and five hard drives. I use five fans in all and my case temp has never gone above 44 degree's even when it is 40 degrees ambient. So, use decent heatsinks and fans and you should not have any problems..

Hi there,
I would suggest to check the video card. A faulty video may make such things happen.
