Sorry not worth fixing,because DLP,LCD or Plasma tvs screen panels are broken or damage.Will cost the same as a new tv to do the replacement of the screen panels.No where u will able to buy any tvs screen panels anywhere,except the tvs corporations themselves.The screen are 90% of the tv,damage or broken screen panels tv not worth as a whole tv anymore,now only worth as salvage electronics boaards parts.

Your front panel contact switches need to be cleaned and if that does not fix it replace all 5 contact switches.
Power/vol-,vol+/ch- ch+, Menu switches.
Use contact cleaner or rubbing alcohol it works good just let it dry after pouring on switche press contact in back and forth.

Replace the deflection board. You can get replacement Deflection boards from www.tvrepairworld.com

The image appears like it's in 3D because the convergence is offline. The convergence is offline because one (or more) driver circuits (IC) is fried. If the circuit is fried the current thru it will be very high. If the current is very high the fuse will blow. Just replacing the fuse solves nothing - you must first replace all IC's.
Thomson doesn't sell repair kits for their tv's, these are sold by small companies that have realized that some components have to be replaced on a regular basis and created a kit containing all the necessary parts. I don't know of which kit are you referring to but as a general rule you should buy the one with the most components and replace them all.

A lot of these have bad capacitors in the power board. You can see them look puffy or bulged if you disassemble and look. look for caps that look like this



If they are bad, you just need to replace with similar value caps and the issue should be solved. They should be flat on top, not bulged like the picture. If you have a convergence issue too, this can also be fixed on the same board, let me know if you get to soldering..

you will need a set of TORX bits to open up, make sure you pull the ac power first. Look @ the left side when you get inside for the bad caps, you may need to use a mirror to see back behind the U shaped heat sink (there is a big one behind there that goes bad)..

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.
• TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

Most likely scenario is that the auto convergence option has disappeared which will cause the set to have an arced picture with double images. You can get the RCA repair kit called ITC222 & ITC222A convergence option missing repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the replacement parts and the CD with instructions.

could be.  did it happen suddenly? if so your convergence circuit has gone out and needs to be worked on.

You may have what is called a DVI input instead of HDMI, you van get a simple adapter to covert one end to DVI or you may just have component HD connection which is green blue and red for video and red and white for audio.

Thanks for using FixYa. The issue is with the failed convergence (STK) ICs which needs tobe replaced. It’s not a difficult job if you want to do this yourself, youshould require some basic knowledge about soldering-resoldering components. Tostart with you’ll have to open the back of the unit and then replace the ICs(STK ICs) which are located behind the black heat sink and also check theresistors as if they are short the ICs might blow again after sometime. Open the front panel, about where the sound is, and look for 3-6 knobs, adjust those until you receive a good picture.

Sounds like the vertical deflection has dropped out which would shut down the three CRTs but still allow audio to work. The vertical output IC may need replacement.
