I have a HDLP50W15, I changed the lamp a year ago.
It is a ballast job for sure. It is located around the bulb since it generates the power to excite the bulb to giving off light.
Try to utube the procedure and you might get lucky with a how to video.
The picture went blank on
When was the last time you changed the bulb for the projector? has this gone bad? If the bulb needs changed, consult your manual for instructions and if the bulb is good let us know.
Rca hdlp50w151 screen removal
Remove the 3 screws about 3 inches in on the back side of the speaker cover on each side. pull out and slightly upward on the speaker cover to remove. supsupport the cover if you do not want to disconnect the ground and button control cables. Remove the screws on the top and side rear panel to front frame/screen cover. tilt the screen cover out about 12 in at the top and lift up. Reverse the procedure to reinstall.
My D52w23 makes noise and wont turn on keeps
Does it sound like a sharp short squeal, or a soft wispy whine that coincides with the blinking power light 3 times then stops when the power light each time? If so respond to this same post and I will assist you with the issue.

The first thing that you need to do is clean it out. There can be a problem like you are talking about due to dust and dirt in the unit. It thinks there is an overheat condition. While you are cleaning the unit, check and make sure that all the fans that are inside are working. They can wear out.

The model indicated is a DLP type set and answer is based on that model number.Either a issue with the actual lamp (unlikely but possible) or a issue with the Optical light engine this set uses--possible damage from heat the lamp creates when it shines into the engine.

Buzzing is usually indicating the color wheel is defective. Or it could also be the lamp fan malfunctioning as well. My quess would be the color wheel as thats a fast moving part which is prone for bearing failure.
