RCA F25432 25" TV Questions & Answers
Had tv for 7 now
Hello. Begin by plugging something else into the outlet to make sure there is power. Also, unplug the tv for a few minutes and then plug it back in.
Do you have this tv plugged into a surge protector? If not, you probably got hit with a surge with all of the goofy weather. IF that is the case, the internal fuse is blown and needs to be replaced. Joe

REMOTE DOES NOT WORK ON SYLVANIA TV
It sounds more like a problem with the TV, than the remotes. It's possible that the IR reciever or microprocessor for it have pooped out. It's something that would have to be serviced by a shop, but due to the age and size it would likely be cheaper to replace the whole TV.

when you bring the menu up on the screen one of the items will let you select cable; another item will let the set autoprogram, let it run through all the channels and it will select what channels you should receive-then you can do channel up/down.
How to connect DVD
I understand that but on your cable box there should be audio out jacks just like on mine. It will say audio out. On some cable boxes there is a video in. Another way is to go to a local Radioshack or place like that and buy an AV switch. They are about $10-$20.
How to use DVD player along with cable box wih this tv
The audio out jacks in the back of the cable box can support up to 5.1 channels of audio to a home theater system. Take the DVD player and plug it into the TV with only the video cable and the audio cables into the theater syste. If you have and questions you can ask and if pictures are needed than I can post them.

TV WILL NOT COME ON - TV Chirps when you plug it in
The F25432 uses the CTC203 series chassis. The most common cause of the picture being intermittent is poor solder joints on the small coil connected to the base of the horizontal output transistor. These cracked solder joints will eventually cause the horizontal output transistor to short, and the power supply will "squeel" when plugged in. If you have experience working on TV's then you can try resoldering the joints on that coil and checking/replacing the horizontal output transistor. If you do not have experience working on TV's then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.

picture blury problem is due to
1 focus wire loose or disconnected due to long life of connection.this wire is in crt base.
2 focus control mistunned.
3 low voltage on crt electodes.
4 if tv is old then crt is getting weak.
5 crt base or connector loose
hope this helps.

If you ONLY have an Antenna or Cable input, you are going to need a Video & Audio to RF converter.. This connects to ya DVD Video & Sound OUT, and then connects to ya sets Antenna IN.
This device converts ya Video & Audio signal to Radio Frequency Signal that can be "Received" by ya set. (Basically a low power TV transmitter)
This is the only way I know of, if ya haven't got any other Inputs into a set.

the horizontal output transistor my be shorted out, or the flyback transformer my be open? Have you unsoldered and tested? If you are not a technician, or have no experience I would not suggest to work on the tv yourself.
good luck,
Mike
