check fuse FD802A on the power supply board it is also feeding the -30 volt line. FD102S is on the convergence board 3.5 amp pico fuse

both FD101S and FD102S are on the convergence board they are identified as small green or tan resistor shaped components (pico fuse) 3.5 amp 125 volt

pull the light assembly out clean it with a vacuum and some pressurized air spray and place it back in the TV, while it is out check the fans on either the inside or in the removable assembly for damage or other interference in operation...If this doent help dissemble/remove the rear of the enclosure ( 6-10 screws) and clean the insides carefully and then turn the tv on - being careful not to be touching ANYthing and see if you locate the culprit.....

Follow the power cord into the set--it goes almost directly to the ac line fuse inside the set.

A few possible reasons--the usual if dead is power supply or set is in protective shut down--means someone has to open, check for voltages in and out of the power supply.The "its happening more and more" suggests a more sinister possible issue.This set uses 3 picture tubes and is well known for the coolant in one or more (seen one with all three leaking) leaking the Glycol--as more leaks it gets worse.If someone opens the set and looks for signs on the wires above the main boards and on the boards below (will be if there seen in first 6 inches or so from front of set--signs of what looks like even a small amount of clear liquid--Glycol has leaked.DO NOT if you see signs of it touch it---very toxic and more toxic than antifreeze which it is except more concentrated.It causes all sorts of problems as it dissolves metal leads and parts.Let me know (you have to look carefully!) if you find this.

Here is a quick test....Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc. Problem #2 CRT Fluid is CloudyProjection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos aroundimages. If this set is new, a problem like this would be covered by warranty. If it is no longer under warranty, locate the convergence ICs which will be large black ICs attacked to a heatsink. Try resoldering the pins on these ICs first. If that does not resolve the problem, replace the ICs. These should be marked STKxxx.

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.
