Honeywell HZ514 Baseboard space heater

The power draw would be the same as 15 100 watt light bulbs all on at the same time! If this is on a circuit with anything else (ex; vending machine with cooler. )drawing over 7.5 amps it will trip the circuit breaker! does'nt matter if comercial or home! 120 volt receptacle would be on 20 amp breaker. And as for last question... I know there is a thermostat on front, so as long as thats set right, there should be no reason to fear a fire, if in safe location! John

Loud humming

If this is an electric resistance heater then there is no power supply or transformer. I had a baseboard heater that would hum loudly and I found there's a wire that runs along the bottom to connect the far end of the heat element to the electrical wiring at the supply end. This wire becomes magnetized from the current flowing through it and vibrates in the channel it runs through. I was able to open this channel and squirt a bit of silicone caulk in to keep the wire from vibrating and the hum is gone.

Can a Honeywell CT87N switch from Heat to Cool on its own? Twice now I noticed it was cooler in my apartment and I went to thermostat and it had been switched from Heat to Cool on its own...

That's very unlikely. I'd sooner believe the cat has been playing with it or it gets changed when someone wearing a backpack brushes past it (sometimes the straps or zipper pulls snag the oddest things). You can get a thermostat guard to prevent this if your landlord permits it.

I need to change Trane Weathertron Baystat 239 Thermostat over to Honeywell RTH6360D 5-2 Day Programmable Thermostat?

Question edited for clarity. Installation manual, but it has some very specific requirements. You may not have the correct one. The RTH6360 thermostat does not support L/A, S, or U terminals. If there are wires in terminals that are not listed, you will need additional wiring support. Visit yourhome.honeywell.com/support to find out if the thermostat will work for you. I don't understand that, and if you don't, you need a heating or electrical engineer.

Replacing a 2-pole baseboard heating thermostat

Here at home where I reside we have an old school thermostat that has the mercury bulb that acts like a sensor, and in other cases it could just be as easy as replacing the batteries in the unit itself, usually a lid that hides them, sometimes it works

My Honeywell oil-filled heater will not stop heating at the chosen temperature, but rather goes all the way up to 80 every time.

Probably a faulty thermostat. Time for a qualified engineer to take a look or to replace it.

Where is battery on a Honeywell LR95329 Thermostat Base please?

They all hide in the thermostat base. Load on the contacts is 24 vac standard, 30 volts max. the battery however is a standard AA or AAA Duracell battery, it is not 30 volts.... Those are available almost everywhere, You can pry the front of the thermostat from its wall mount sub base and see the batteries inside... just replace them. Apr 18, 2017
